Hmmm. Then why post? Red What? Get beat in your GSX by a Max and needed to renew your self esteem by reminising about when you had one? Sorry, two papers, 3 days, 1 clinical interview, 100+ pages in a workbook = 0 sleep.

Why be a ****head? Have you ever met Bryan? I have when I was at the track a few weeks ago.. The first thing he did after we met was jump under my hood and tweak a few things on my car, then he gave me advice on how the track ran. His garage has 2 stock 4th gens sitting in it, so you can't say he's strayed too far from the Max community.. He supports other people, still owns one himself, and is really a pretty damn cool guy.
now STFU with your stupid comments. thank you, drive through please.

Well said

Bryan sprinkled some of his magic dust on Matt's car when it was at the drag strip

Damn I hope I don't get the same welcome back after I sell the Max.

Hey I remember that pic! IIRC in your sig had something along the lines of "secret sauce" added to the car .

at least someone people remember me.

get beat in the gsx? not hardly. that only happened once and it resulted in my tranny being hammered when i hit second gear. see if i help your arrogant *** on here...

see. if some of oyu guys would come to kc. you could have faster maxima's/ ask matt, he'll tell ya
=oD

i just thought id share it for the newbies here. but i guess the newbies don't dig deep enough into the system to know the car anyways

nissy. yep the secret sauce is still secret. not kmuch of its left as new parts come out, but never the less some stuff is still there.

jeff. timing advance and a/c belt removal, thats all i could do at the time with out a die grinder and a feeler gauges. and my tools

Good thinking, you're not going to be using the AC going down the track. But, once I listened to the radio while going down the track....hehe...I wanted to see what the announcer was saying about me in my Maxima.

By taking off the AC belt, will that be a noticable gain in power when you compare time slips? Is it possible for it to shave off a tenth just by removing the belt? Just curious. Thanks.

i told this too matt when he was stading in my drive way before he left to head back home after the track.

you would be amazed at what you, yourself can do for very very little if no money at all to the motors in these cars., you just have to know what you're doing with them, trial and error.

you just have to take a different angle at looking at certain things

BTW the belt removal does work. i learned it from oddly enough. a friend of mine who drives a mustang and runs without a belt in certain events.

just remember, everyone knows what i did to my maxima. just majority of you have yet to discover what simple things can be done to gain power from the littlest thing.

ran consistant 14.3-14.5's with less then 600 bucks in the motor in mods

=o)
it was cool

then it only gained another 5 hp from the cams. which was not worth the money at all. but then again. its the only ve like it around

i might as well do this to get it over with.

mods as far as i can remember what i did to my 92 se 5spd

conical filter
Custom MAF adapter plate
silencer removed
bored throttle body {71 mm}
port matched intake
ported upper and lower {mild port, nothing extreme. port smoothing in a sense}
stock plugs
stock ignition system
stock clutch
2.5 from stock y-pipe{hollowed cat} back to a opak race type muffler
lowered 2.5 in front. 2.0 in rear {helped a lot in weight tranfering}
gutted trunk
shaved weight {final weight 2890}
stock shifter
tenzo-r pedal kit
autometer monter tach w/shift lite set at 6300
stock ecu
3z fuel pump
N/A 3z injectors
stock fpr
subframe connectors
bald street tires {2.0-1.9 60ft's}
advanced timing
a/c belt removed
hood pins {no carbon fiber hood}
98 eclipse gsx wheels {cruizin only. no racin}
removed headlight and grill{drivers side} for track use

if i remember right the final dyno on motor was 184 at 6000 rpms and 202 ft lbs at 4500 rpms
was 225 hp and 240 ft lbs on bottle {set up rich for a reason}
and the mods that were not worth anything
N/A 3z cams
extensive tuning to get cams to work
20 hours of dyno tuning in general
eclipse 5301 head unit
macrom 6.5 co-insidals
soundstream reference 405s
jl audio 10w1's {two}
custom ported enclosure to jl specs

at one point it did have nitrous
NOS wet kit. single fogger, 50 shot
13.8@101 on bottle
14.3@98 on motor

this are all the mods that i personally can remember. im sure there is somethat i have left out and or forgotten overtime.

and the secret sauce {some of you remember it} was powershifting. this alone can take off .3 tenths
leaving your foot glued to the gas pedal on the floor, and tapping the clutch while shifting.

no more secrets here. like i have been saying, it was all pretty much common knowledge. just a matter of tuning the car for max performance {it helped i worked at a dyno shop at the time.}

there ya go kids. have fun with it. the cats out of the bag

there really wasn't much of any secrets involved in it. just the fact it took a damn good driver to do those times. i had let other people drive it to see if it was just me or the car. they only did 14.8-14.9 in it. several times over.

the best mod i ever did to the car? was learning how to drive it

Powershifting!?!? Cripes! You're too hardcore for me!

One thing I've never understood about powershifting though, is doesn't the engine bump against the rev-limiter when u do that? (Or what stops a non-limited car from over-revving?) I get that it's "shifting full throttle", but can you explain a little more please?

if you even attempt it at first, you will be scared and you will hit the rev limiter.

it involves a lot of practice, about 3 months worth of track time to perfect it. only do it when in serious races. not against cars that you know you'll beat in general. i went through a tranny because of this. blew third gear apart.

i never let the motor hit the rev limiter in anyway. i used to power shift on the bottle.
if this tells you anything. the motor would only rev up 2-300 rpms between the time i pushed the clutch in and let the clutch out because i was already in the next gear

ask Dave B about my shifing in the maxima when he road with me.

Are you going for another speed freak, or something comfortable this time... haha

I would love to buy your DSM, but no room for it now.

Look us up when you get your new ride man. Even if it's not a Max.

im not "hating" is so called. more or less its the point of people no researching anything. there is so much information about turbo's nitrous, superchargers out there on the web its not even funny. i understand that you have to learn somewhere. thats given. some sites have people that are more egar to respond to posts then others

maybe if i stayed around more i would have become a moderator. but who knows. im already a moderator of a site. and its fun, but also annoying because you can't voice your opinion without ****ing people off and causing a huge war about it with outlosing those privedges.

what i did to my old max was basic motor mods.
more air goes in, more fuel. more power. the whole basic principle behind the mods in general.

just take the mods i have posted and use them. thats why posted them. it doesn't take that much for these cars {mainly ve's} to make the power and produce the times. if you have spare time, open the hood and just start looking at things. yu'd be amazed at what little things can do
