If anyone has any internal photos of their own, it would be nice to compare pictures.

 

With a bottom end like that I wouldn't have touched it at all. Why did you even start "''overhauling" this thing at all?

Reason is I had to overhaul the cylinder heads anyways, so as I had it on the stand, I figured I would just do the re-ring while I had the chance. Plus hot tanking it can only do good at this point I would think. I'm actually just going to try and replace the heads completely, as I think it's cheaper that way than getting the valve job. I priced out the valve job, and it get's costly fast. Those lifters are really expensive.

I'll see after all the inspections are done, but so far the crankshaft end play came out to 0.002" and the crankshaft runout came out to 0.001" - that I was surprised how well it did - this was captured at both the main journals, 4X readings. I'll post some more pictures later but the oil pump screen looked clean too.

true that. just start a thread in the all motor section abd throw all this stuff in there. you might even get better responses there too.
