VG oil leak

the seam with the arrow pointing at seeps quite a bit of oil, it seeps out and rolls down to the lowest point of the engine before dripping onto to the driveway. can someone identify what this part that's leaking? i'm guessing there is no easy fix :/ which is annoying because the car doesn't use any oil otherwise, and it's making a big mess wherever i park!

i also think there might be a hole in the exhaust looking at this pic :X

The hole is in a shield, more than likely your y pipe wasn't punctured, that being the reason for the protection around the pipe. To the right is your tranny, to the left your engine, seems that the seal between the two is leaking; or at least that's what your arrow is pointing to. Is it leaking straight motor oil? Or is it tranny fluid? If it's motor oil it's prolly your rear main engine seal....

if it's engine oil then rear main seal...
if it's ATF then your converter seal is done...
must separate the tranny from the motor to get to both.

the hole in the y is your heat shield...nothing to be worried about.

Side note...
how is your car JDM maxima?

it seems like engine oil so it might be your rear main seal. i also think your valve cover gaskets are done as well and needs to be replaced since i see that the rest of the tranny bell housing is covered in oil from above as well. you still need to separate the tranny from the engine to change the rear main seal and while your at it just change the ones from the tranny as well just to be on the safe side. and then work your way up to the valve covers and change those gaskets as well.

* and i will also like to know how your 3rd gen is a JDM maxima???

You definitely have more than one leak, that tranny is covered with oil in my opinion!

from what i've seen on here there's not really much special about a JDM 3rd gen, just different trim and a few bits and pieces here and there. no major differences to the USDM 3rd gen that i can tell

That blows. This will be a pretty costly repair if you don't have the equipment already, and you want to do it yourself.

I'm not sure what a shop charges for this.
