while it is plausible to convert to convert the vg to diesel, or biodiesel, because of it's iron construction, there is so much altering and reinforcing that would need to be done to it.

IMHO, it would be more trouble to make a gasoline engine diesel ready than it would to convert to electric. i like the idea, but the best way to go about it is to find a FWD diesel engine and do a swap, but those aren't too common in the size/power range you need for a maxima.

engine swap boss...i know at one point nissan did make diesel motors and i'm sure they still do make diesel truck motors.

Wasn't there like a diesel 2nd gen or something? I know when I was in Colombia in 2006 I heard something Nissan Patrol being diesel as well..

it was ld28 i6 that was diesel that was availible in the 1st gen.
