what time do they cut off delivery? if it doesn't show up by then can you pick it up from the local hub? our local hub has after-hours pickup i think.

Dude I swear I don't get UPS deliveries until about 10 pm at night. I live pretty close to the main regional hub here and I guess they don't do my area until the way back to the hub. What's more annoying than getting 10 pm deliveries is that about half the time they don't even attempt to actually deliver it (I guess when they get so far behind).

They run out of the truck, slap the "sorry we missed you" sticker on the door, don't knock or ring the doorbell, and then run back to the truck and drive off.

unless your stuff is absurdly rusty you could do it yourself with a 3/8 ratchet, 1/2 long extensions, 13/14/15mm sockets (forget what the stock fasteners are.. mine came from a hardware store) and something to scrape the cat gasket with.

o2 sensor should be easy.. i just used a normal wrench. tho they also make a split/casing socket thing for maximum grip. As far as size (of gaskets? i assume), just get the stock gaskets from any auto parts store.

when reinstalling the o2 put antiseize on the threads. unplugging it before removing it should also keep the wires from twisting, and just wait to reconnect it until after it's retightened.

Indeed it did! Came about 1 pm, and then I did the un-enviable task of dropping the cross member and rear motor mount to swap out those darn brackets. So I got the axle in and passenger side suspension all together. Too bad it started raining on me though, cuz it's supposed to rain for like a full week now.

Now all I need to do is put antifreeze in it, oil, tranny fluid, bleed the brakes, drain the gas tank (been in there 6+ years), do the belts, and put the exhaust on and that sucker should be good to go barring some massive oversight on my part

having the tranny fully mounted makes the bracket job WAY easier tho. first time (my car) i just had the engine suspended by my hoist... on nc90gxe's car it was the last thing i did (aside from putting the axle in and reassembling the suspension bits) and it went 10x quicker.

and 6+ years i take it this is VE #2?

True, although ideally I would've liked to do it while the engine was out. I want to find another bracket and get it attached to my VE that's on the stand in the garage so if I ever have to plop that engine in one of the cars I won't have to do any bracket swapping

And yep, this is the blue one. I've had it sitting in my driveway for over two years now (Google street view shows the blue VE sitting in the driveway as well as my brothers '93 Honda and he hasn't had that for at least two years, so it may be longer ), but before I bought it the previous owner had it just sitting in his yard for about 4 years after the transmission crapped out on him.

no it was never loud (not until i crossthreaded my egr hose onto the front manifold, anyhow) with the WSP pipe. the resonator just helps the tone imo

Well, keep in mind they're just claiming their pipes to be better than the Cattman design, so to answer your question - yes, but only relative to the old Cattman y-pipes. Of the three WSP y-pipes I've had none have been completely free of "bee" noise.

Plus, they advertise the "smooth" flow-through design, but then just abruptly bend/kink the pipe nearly in half anyway before it meets the collector, so I would think that would negate most of the mandrel bend advantages

the bee-buzzing was there on the stock ypipe as well as the wsp? perhaps a broken stud then. but the fact that the WSP is unequal length is where the sort of raspy sound comes from, but the fact that it flows more efficiently is what gives you the gain in HP.

perhaps use a little seafoam to blow smoke to help locate any leaks

it wasn't loud but it didn't sound good. no resonator ftl. plus later on i stripped my EGR pipe fitting so it was leaking out of there. i liked it for a month or two, then got tired of the exhaust leak.

FWIW the best place to get the y-pipe gaskets are from Warpspeed. I bought the whole install kit from them for less than $20 and they are glad to have the business come back to them, even on a recycled pipe. I felt good about it myself, why not give them the business, I felt they deserved some compensation to re-install their pipe

nah. my GXE was (all 3rd gen GXEs are auto unless swapped), but i sold the sensor to another guy a long time ago and then he swapped for a 5spd as well, so that sensor is long long gone.
