Oil recommendation for everyone
Oil recommendation for everyone
I was wanting to tell everyone who hasnt yet used this product that i have been 100% satisfied with the VALVOLINE MAX LIFE OIL. I have been using it for about 4 months now and i have been astonished by it. it feels like my engine is running cleaner after about 2 months. if you combine this with chevron with techron every 2500 to 3000 miles you will be making your max happy. Check this out!

I use It
It's pretty nice stuff. I have also used Quaker State higher mileage, but this stuff has a better consistency out of the bottle and it seems to protect really well. Its cheaper than synthetic blends and desgned for high mileage engines. Can't really go wrong with it unless you're a synthetic die-hard.
I'm using it also...
Just started using Max Life in April. I know Valvoline oils come out the lightest in colour from the bottle of all the dino oils. Tells me it has to be quite clean.
I haven't changed the oil yet so I can't say if the oil is cleaner then using other brands. I don't feel a difference with the oil but I know it is doing its job of reducing oil consumption and treating the seals. Will update on next oil change on how I feel towards Max Life. I'm using it on my 99 Max.

Thanks for the recommmendation...f
...I'm going to have to change my oil soon, so I may try the Valvoline MAXLIFE this time. The last oil change, I used the Castrol GTX High Mileage oil, and I can't say I can tell any differences between that and any other oil that I've used in the past. The only product that I've ever used that I could tell made a difference was using DuraLube, but it didn't last very long.
BTW - I regularly use the Chevron fuel system cleaner with Techron and that stuff is great! I recommend it to anyone.
Anyway, thanks again for the recommendation.

im generally a castrol guy but valvoline makes some decent stuff. I like to use K&N filters and I would add **** to my car but ever since picking up a bottle of leaky NOS octane booster and having it spill all over me, ive been somewhat hesitant (well not really but that did suck.)

I like synthetics, it just gives me a sense of security. I love the feeling of having a "bullet proof" engine, cant say the same for rice though, infact a kid just about blew his engine because of his oil. he, like most people go to the local grease monkey and have them change it, well they screwed up and while he was trying to **** me off by reving his engine, his car started to smoke, the oil filter had 2 rings on it and one busted off, oil all over the place and an almost fried engine.
What do you guys think? should we have given him some oil and help or should we have let him waste mommy's money?
it is just another event which has placed my friend and I into the "god status" in theyre minds. now if only they would stop trying to hopelessly race us. my friends '93 F350 with 4:56 gears and posi kicks rice ***, he has to much fun.

I love using synthetic oil. The bulletproof-ness is just incredible. SCC proved it makes your engine bullet proof.
It will take...
I did some research on Max Life at other forums and most users tend to see a reduction in oil consumption after the second oil change. Guess the oil has to circulate throughout the engine so the oil can actually condition the seals. The longer we have the Maxlife engine oil in the crankcase the better the job it will do.
I checked the oil today and I'm still at the full mark after more then six weeks since the oil change.
