It's been a long time guys...

What's up fellas? I haven't been on here for a LONG time and I apologize for that----College took over my mind and I fell out of the habit of coming on here every other day like before. By the way, I need some suggestions, my max has been acting really weird lately. The engine gets this awful shake at like 55/65mph but then once I accelerate further it smoothens out?...Nissan claimed it was a fuel injector, and a personal friend/mechanic said it was a burned exhaust valve. But the rough idle eventually went away and it was just a thing at highway speeds. But then I took it to the shop to get the radiator flushed and the rough idle is back now. Any ideas at all? I'm going to replace the plugs when I go home this weekend...

my guess would be a bad fuel injector. I had the same issue. At first it was only on certain days that the idle would be rough or the injector would miss, then it got worse with time. The idle at a stop would get really bad, and the engine would miss really bad. Even on the highway doing 60-70 I could feel it miss real bad and it would sometime feel as if it was loosing power or running on only 5 cylinders instead of 6. Well cant worry about that right now as Ive got a bigger issue on my hands, I have to replace my transmission.

same here. ya it more than likely i had the exact same issue awhile ago and it ended up being the fuel injector, i changed the fuel filter hoping it was that but no luck it was a bad injector and had the exact same symptoms

Hope that helps out some. It seemed like on a nice hot sunny day that the car would run fine and not miss like it usually does once its warmed up. Then later on it would start acting up, I guess heat has something to do with it. Just guessing though.

Yeah, this summer it was running perfectly, I'd use the a/c and everything and the loads never caused any problems, now that it's colder it's acting up all over again. Nissan gave me a quote of $1500 to replace the injectors (apparently they can't replace one at a time or something). I may try to do it myself, but I'm afraid of the burned valve being the actual problem (even if it doesn't make any sense) --- but she's still getting me everywhere w/ no other problems...awesome cars...

Just a stab, but the vibration at highway speed may be a bad CV axle.
