Door Lock Actuator or Timer.

Do the factory lock / unlock still work?

Could be a wire not making connection as well.

Its the timer circuit, its gets broken solder points. Its the small box next to the factory alarm, under the dash to the right of the steering wheel. You can pull it apart and heat all the solder points.

I have the factory keyless entry & the passenger side lock command doesn't work. I have owned a lot of Fords & thought it was wierd that the Nissan even had a passenger side keypad...

if the only thing not working is the lock command, then you probably need a new keypad

Is there a way to completely turn off the keyless system alltogether? When it gets cold out my key pad doesn't work (on the driver side), and I have to use the keypad on the passenger side to get in the driver door. And when I put the key in the driver side door, something is preventing me from turning the key to open it the old fashioned manual way.

Want to convert it to the old fashioned manual way.

How do you take the door lock timer mechanism from its mounting place under the dash, is there a certain wrench or screwdriver to use?? Also what does the keyless entry controll thing do thats located near the passenger side glove box?

Just purchased a 1991 maxima gxe, 35,000 miles. When I try to lock the doors using the lock button on the keyless entry, all the locks do go down, however, they immediately pop back up again. Does anybody know what the issue could be? There is no key in the ignition when this happens.

This is not a keyless entry issue. My car is doing the same at times. I have been patient and eventually it stops. I assume it's a front door switch or lock issue.

Thank you for your response. How long does it usually take for your locks to start working properly again? The only way I can get the car to lock is to turn the key, hold the handle up, then push the lock button...it is very awkward to do.

Alot of times its the door lock timer that causes lock to work and not work at tandom or not work at all but in your case with the locks popping back up sounds like an actuator issue.

Maybe it's just a coincidence, but right before the seller shipped the car, he had the drivers side door window regulator repaired because it wouldn't go up or down anymore. He didn't report having any issues with the locking system. Maybe there is a link??
