slotted and drilled rotors, probs
#1
hey everyone,
where can i get direct replacements for my factory rotors. my calipers are fine, i would just like to replace all four rotors for my 92 SE. also, my rears are squeaking all the time. when i pull the e brake, it stops till i turn at all. it's really annoying. my rear rotors are pretty glazed and beat. I need to replace em anyway and the cheapest rear rotors are like 56 bucks apiece. i figured i might as well put fancy ones on if the price was right. I took my car to nissan and the mechanic said i just neeeded new rotors in the back. has anyone else had this problem?

stillen has decent prices on 'em..
also check porterfield, but they sell the same brembo stuff as Stillen does.
carparts.com has some stuff in the powerstop brand.. I've heard good and bad about them. prices are about the same anyway. they've also got OEM replacement bendiz and posibly brembo rotors.. can't go wrong there either..
but while you're at it, go ahead and get good pads all around.
switch your pads first and bed them in on your old rotors, THEN install your new rotors and be easy on them for the first 500 or so miles.
(the bedding process gets the rotors really hot, and heating new rotors like that is a very bad idea, asking to warp the bejeezus out of them your first time out)..
lots of people have complained about the brembo discs warping on them, but I've had mine almost 9 months, 12k miles, and have had ZERO problems with them for warping.. they're just as smooth as the day I bought them.
