Please Help..Clutch pedal sticking

I have a VG 5spd. for the last few days my clutch pedal will not return to the original position properly when it is pressed. It stays about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down. Sometimes it snaps back after a delay, other times, I have to pull it back up myself.

When I press it, it seems to have lost its "springiness". It is very weak until it gets close to the floor. Then I can feel it grab and give resistance. I don't have any trouble getting in and out of gear, I just have lost the ability to shift cleanly since the clutch pedal does not come back up.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jayson

Same problem

I am having a similar problem, so I can't help you with the "true" solution, but you can try adjusting the freeplay. I have a '91 and it is above the clutch pedal (inside the car) on the pushrod. You lossen the lock nut and rotate the pushrod to adjust the pedal height. I can't seem to get mine set right though. Even when I think I have it perfect, it gradully changes itself after a few days.
Hope this helps

I've seen clutch master/slave cylinders cause issues SOMEWHAT similar to this when they are on their way out. What I've seen doesn't exactly match what you guys are saying... but it might be something to think about or look at. Also you may try bleading the clutch hydrulic system just to see the affect it has...

One other question: What pressure plates are you guys running?

Good luck,
