If you swap them all in and car continues to run smooth then you can be sure the problem will come back. Next time around though you could start from coils and may be get to the root of the problem. Some of my car's electrical problems took a while to hunt down.

If you saw CEL and you cleared codes before chances are ECU stored new code(s) while it was lighting up CEL. If you read your codes again it might give you some clue. I'm not sure if 3rd gen ECU clears them automatically so I'd use this as opportunity to clear codes as well and make sure ECU doesn't have anything left.
The thing was last year I swapped the coil packs with these before and it didnt solve the problem. And the ECU code was 55 so I didn't clear it out. We did most we can before we had to spend alot of money, and alot was spent. I have a total of 13 coil packs and who knows how many other parts laying around now.

you have coil packs or distributor with wires? are the wires routed correctly?
my car had a misfire ONLY at idle, at revs it was fine.
but in my case i had to change out an injector..

Yeah we checked all that stuff. Its the VE30DE engine so it uses coil packs. All the injectors were checked and we replaced 3 injectors recently. One because it was failing and two because their resistance was out of normal range. Check out the original recount and you can see what we've tried up til now.

I haven't taken the car in for inspection yet. I want to make sure all my ducks are in a row before doing that. I have a few light bulbs to change and some other things that may not pass.

I have had the same problem of misfiring / hesitation with a VE30DE, I replaced the fuel filter, fitted new Bosch fusion spark plugs, and wrapped insulation tape around all the tubes on the coil packs as 2 had cracked uppers, and one had light grey arcing spots on it's tube, and now it runs perfectly. I think these motors are very sensitive to spark plugs and coils. I intend to replace my coil packs with a sequential spark system which will be about a quarter the cost of new coil packs.

Does it feel like the car doesn't respond to your throttle activations? Thats how mine was and I suspect that the TPS was my problem although I changed alot more than that. Fuel filter, coil packs, o2 sensor, IACV, and MAF are also other areas to check out.
