Flucuating fuel Pressure!
Flucuating fuel Pressure!
Well guys,
Ive been ironing out a few bugs since running my 1990 VG30E and I run into a flucuating fuel pressure which I thought was MAF/O2 sensor related.... But when I try to run 36-40 psi it flucuations between 30-45 and during cruise it causing the car to buck....Well I thought it may have something to do with some possible debris in my Adjustable fuel pressure (Nismo) and my fuel pump is a Walbro 190 l/hr... Well after blowing everything out looking for some debris which I didn't find...I started playing with the pressure adjustment and I noticed the flucuations went away at 60 psi which is to high to operate at...but there's a possibility that the Nismo AFR can't handle the volume of fuel being pumped by the Walbro fp...and it's needle is jumping on it's seat, causing the flucuations on my fuel pressure gauge. I read up on another situation back in 2008 with a DE-K swap and the same exact setup! I'll upgrade my AFR to an Aeromotive or B&M brand made for usage with high flow fuel pumps and this should resolve my issue.....
The Heatsheild really works well, the car handles great (with the stock 15"ers on it....acceleration is very brisky with the stock cat and catback on as for now....the headers really make the throttle responsive as hell...I'm keeping it under 4.5K for now until I get more miles....My stock resonator has a hole in it so I'll purchase a el'cheapo Cherry bomb so I can past inspection /emissions....I haven't even installed the JWT ECU yet just taken care of the small issues such as resoldering in new connectors for sensors and made my Mallory ignition system plug and play! The speed sensor plug I found is the perfect match for the ignition coil harness side plug for those interested....I'm debated between a 2.25" and 2.5" exhaust system (custom) more than likely using 409 SS or aluminized steel....2.5" is really on my mind since I think the Pacesetter catback was more for the Oem exhaust manifolds flow rate and it was 2.25".... but with these headers 2.5" may be the perfect setup! I really don't wanna lose the crisp throttle response in 30-55 mph traffic....

Well I'm doing alot of thinking.....The SOHC provides more torque than the VE plus the Isky Cams I'm running are helping my low end/midrange punch...But my header ypipe collector is only 2.25", so I might do 2.25" all the way thru....The car has an exhaust leak and still pulls with authority up to 4K rpm.
