Heater always on

I have ACC

So the other day I was driving around and had my fan blowing at 4 and wanted to put it down to 2. To my surprise it stayed at 4 even tho my ACC said 2, so I shut it off and the ACC went off but the fan continued to blow at about 2..
(When I said 4 I meant the "fan blades" on the ACC were full, and 2 was at 2 blades)
In short when the ACC is on, it blows at 4 no matter what setting I set it. And blows at 2 when the ACC is off.

It's been about 3 days now and it's still doing it

It was pretty cold out, about -26C (-15F) when it happened.

I did the self diagnosed on the ACC, and everything seems to work fine.

Where should I look?

Does it do the same in both auto and econ mode? Kind of weird symptoms, you could start off by replacing the fan control amp, see if that fixes it. If not, you might have a bad control unit. Either way, both are going to have issues eventually so it's good to have spares. Lucky for you ACC equipped Maximas are easy to find in Canda, i'd head to the junkyard, fan control amp is located behind the glove box, cast aluminum peice screwed into the heater intake box.

I'll have to try Auto mode, not sure if I already did. It was on defrost when it happened, and since I've tried Econ and it still did it.

Update for forum search:
It was in fact the fan control amplifier that was defective which is located behind the glovebox. Got a new one thanks to chrome91 and it works good now. Easy fix.

lol no prob.

the part itself is actually easy to get out, just a couple of screws and you just have to cut a wiring harness to get it free. i just really lucked out by finding a junkyard car with the glovebox already out so it took me 5 minutes

yeah youre lucky, just had to swap the white piece lol

my toolbox doesnt have scissors or any cutting tools in it, i forgot my scissors in the trunk and didnt want to walk all the way back so i went to a 4th gen and got a loose wheel hub, it had a sharp side to it so i Rambo hacked the harness lol. i threw scissors in my toolbox now.
