This may be a dumb question but i searched the forum to no avail and the manual and thats a no go. Is it called something else? I want to try and pull codes but i can't find the ECU in a 94 max

well first of all it is in the stickies.... general maintainence sticky post #19. i made a video that shows where the ECU is and how to do it. granted what you see on my video is how to pull codes on a VG-engined car.. ecu is still in the same place on a VE but the procedure is different).

All 89-91 cars are VG regardless if they are a GXE or SE but since yours is a 92-94 you have to determine if it's trim level in order to determine its engine. Spoiler + white gauges + black trim around windows/tails means you have a VE. Black gauges + chrome trim around windows / taillights means you have a VG.

We have the play on words war going. You are a better searcher than i am. I searched "where is the ecu" and then "where ecu" then just "ecu" all in the 3rd gen forum.

And i've been on the forum all morning searching other things. I was done trying to find the answer. thanks man

keep in mind that the search function is not a human... it doesn't know what a question is. it just finds words in posts and sorts them. often times it ignores words that are common or not specific (like who what when why where and how, etc.)
