putting on SE tails and center piece

i've traded my gxe tails and center piece for SE ones, I'll get some pics up once it's done. the only thign i am worried about is that the center piece is kind of a grey color and not black so it might look funny /w my car. anybody have pics of a max /w a changed SE center piece?

which two are u referring to? 8mm socket and extension was all that was needed. if you still have the interior liner you'll need to remove about 10-15 clips 1st.

I have a 91SE. I looked at those pics, but I wasn't really sure what I was looking for.
What centerpiece?

what year did it come off of? All 92-94SE centerpieces look like the above pic. Try to get SE tailights as well so it can all look flush.

We are looking at that piece thats in between your tailights which in your case would be the black part.

Platinumplus is right. The above pic shows the 89-91 SE tails with a 92-94 SE centerpiece. The 92-94 SE tails are slightly different.

Also, Ngthing's comment is partially correct. The housings for the 89-91 lights will not match up with 92-94 outer lights and vise versa. So if you are going to replace the lights, replace both the housings and the outer lenses. This case is true for SE or GXE lights.

Additionally, you might want to use a heat gun to soften the putty (black adhesive) that surrounds the lights. Be careful with this super sticky stuff, WILL NOT COME OUT OF CLOTHES. Also, do not pry lights out forcefully, you will either break the lens or the housing. Take your time. Make it look nice and neat.

I put a 90' SE center on my 89 GXE with the red tail lights. It looks realy nice. To make it look flush with the chrome trim on my GXE lights, I found that you can simply sand the black paint off of the SE trim and reveil the chrome GXE trim underneath.
