Help! Drivers Side Headlight on all the time!
WTF!
Not sure why, my drivers side headlight came on all by itself today and will not go off, not matter what I try.
Finally, pulled the fuse so I can go to work
Any ideas?????
A relay maybe???
Bizarre
Any help much appreciate!!!!!!!!

only two real possibilities.
have you ever cleaned the switch contacts, before?
No, I have never cleaned the switch contacts - ignition ?
I re-installed the fuse this afternoon, the headlight did not come on again.
This was at the parts store, they gave me a relay to try and, well, I could not replicate the issue at that time.
Nor could I find the headlight relay - I looked in the relay box, there was a place for the driving lights I think it was, none there, this is a GLX.
I'm assuming there might be two headlight relays somewhere, or at least I hope, and that one is going bad.
If it is "downstream" from the switch, that would seem to be the solution, maybe.......
Thanks again - making progress!

the only relay is for the theft system. the headlight wiring on this car is kindof odd but basically it goes from the battery, through one fuse for each side, to the switch, then to the bulbs, then to ground. the theft relay's wiring taps into those circuits by way of joint connectors (forget which ones) for thie highbeam wiring, and it activates both highbeams simultaneously when the alarm is triggered. but i'm not sure if just one side of that relay could be stuck so that's why i'd hesitate to point at the relay. and if it's your lowbeam that is stuck on then it's definitely not the relay since the relay only does highbeams.

You people rock, thank you!
Checked the switch, a couple of the contacts ("points") were slightly burned, ran a piece of paper though them now, you're spot on, I'll be shopping for a replacement switch.
Also, here is a great link, I should of used that search feature, but this was more fun and you all are much appreciated.
