VG to VE swap?

I'm considering swapping in a VE30DE to replace my VG30E sometime in the future. Couldn't find many threads on the subject - I thought it was a fairly popular/compatible procedure. Just how feasible is it? How compatible are the other components e.g. starter, alternator, rad, axels, P/S, etc. etc. ? I have a 91 GXE non ABS.

you would need ve engine, trans, computers, wiring harness, ecu/tcu, accessories (ps pump/alty/ac comp.), axles/hubs, starter, patience, time, and the FSM.
radiator/heater are the same.

afaik, it's only been done a couple of times. not really a popular swap, due to the intensive labor AND wiring involved (neither is a big deal, but combining the two and people freak out)

definitely not worth it hence why its been done only a few times. if you want more power from your VG, use Z31 turbo parts and go turbo. otherwise its just better to find a 92-94 SE and buy a whole car

problem is VE engine bays are just as tight if not tighter than Z32 TT engine bays

VG engine bays are spacious

You don't know wtf you're talking about....There's plenty of room to any/all routine maintenance on the ve, hell most of standard maintenance thats needed on these cars is easier on the ve, vs. the vg....like injectors...the front injectors are accessible WITHOUT removing the intake manifold, plus, the VE injectors last waaay longer anyway compared the vg injectors...The water pump is waay easier to replace compared to the vg..thermostat is easier....Every sensor except the knock sensor is easily accessible... a simple tune up consists of one thing... PLUGS...No timing belt to be worried about all the time...the VG automatic trans is a miserable piece of crap compared to the ve auto...

Thats all i can think off the top of my head, i'm sure i could remember more if i had one in front of me...

Don't unless you know first hand....

Just turbo your VG30E, it will be easier then swapping in a VE30DE and you can ultimately make a lot more power that way. The majority of what you will need is the same as the NA to turbo Z31 conversion:
