Is it possible to take the Intake manifold off of a late 80's Z and put on the VG engine. If so would there be any hp increases. I really wish that there were aftermarket manifolds like they make for stangs. They make a big differece.


92GXE, touring wing, 18” racing wheels, Port&Polished intake, custom intake, custom yellow interior, racing seats, back seats taken out and replaced with subs and amps, NOS kit, Suspension tech. Lowering springs, custom grille, soon to be custom painted and have the whole engine rebuilt for big shot NOS and custom SC and tranny converted to 5-speed.

 

I've got a 80's Z manifold.. wanna try .... hehehehe.. you might see some differce in power.. probably more off the line response.. I'm not sure what you'd really see #'s wise.. also not sure how'd run.. you'd have to change the intake setup to more closely resemble the VE's.. and I'm not sure how you'd run the MAF sensor.. I got a spare one of those too .... I'll sell ya both and you can have all the fun you want..... hehe j/k.. interesting question my friend.. very interesting

 

The NA z's make a tad LESS hp and torque with similar engine tuning. Looks more like its different cuz its rwd.

wouldn't make your car better. The intake tubing and the rest of the engine is a thoroughly designed and tuned system. I'm sure even Stillen won't venture to play with it much. But...it's only my opinion.
