you sure it's teh brake lights? check the chmsl. (gotta ask the dumb questions).
either way, I bet it's a switch. either brake switch (for brakes), or light stock for parking lights.

If you look under your dash and along the brake pedal arm there is (should be) a rubber stopper attached to the arm. When you let go of the brakes this stopper hits a switch (against the dash you'll see it, looks like a hotel lamp button). My stopper actually rotted out, I took a nut, bolt, and two washers and put it through the hole to fix it.

yup.. pretty common. my clutch switch did that on my race car last month. so I just wired the damn thing together. but for a brake switch, you gotta put a plug of some sort back in there. nut and bolt work fine, just make sure you have it at the right depth so you don't damage the switch in the long term.

I have the same problem.., brake light is just.., staying on

The E Brake IS, down.

It just stays on constantly, just started happening recently too.

But for right now.., oh well, I really don't care its just a light, lol. My brake fluid level is fine, and my breaks work.
