Custom Exhaust Installed Today!!!

Yeah that's right, I just finished installing my exhaust from front pipe 2 muffler. I did most of the job myself, except 4 some modifications 4 fitment . I got a Complete Exhaust Systems front/y-pipe, Magna Flow high flow cat, Custom Maxima Catback(I used the resonator pipe/muffler), it came w/intermediate pipe but was set up for a 4th gen so I had a piece of pipe made up at same width(2.5'') and welded in. I also got a new plug/play O2 sensor from KEM I believe and hooked that all up, disconnected the battery terminals for a little while to reset everything. It looks really tight and sounds great, not 2 leave out that I could really feel the difference at the pedal. I've been trying 2 post some fuuckin' pics but this forum isn't letting me for some fuuckin' reason.

I really thought it'd sound like the typical muffler cut-off and replaced with a fart pipe, but it actually sounds pretty good.

I have a hard time understanding your posts. So, to clarify, you used the CustomMaxima.com 4th gen catback system (modified)?

What about the Y-Pipe? Is "Complete Exhaust Systems" some brand I'm not familiar with..?

I used the Custom Maxima Catback modified, Magna Flow high flow catalytic converter, KEM O2 Sensor and a Complete Exhaust Systems Y-pipe. I came across Complete Exhaust Systems when I was looking for a good Y-pipe, I was gonna use a Warpspeed Y-pipe but changed my mind. The y-pipe is set up a little different than a stock y-pipe but it bolts right up to the headers and cat flange on my Magna Flow Cat. When I first saw the Custom Maxima catbacks I thought the same thing you thought, it was 2 cheap 2 be any good. After much research and installing on a 4thgen I was convinced that I could make it happen on my Biitch(my 3rdgen). Since there are no more catbacks available 4 the 3rdgens no more, this was the move I had to make. I was gonna get a Pacesetter catback system to go with the y-pipe/cat but it was unavailable in the U.S. and shipping from Canada was ridiculous for a catback that wasn't really my first choice, I decided to get something I liked better and for less. I'm very fuuckin' happy with everything and definatly can feel the power gains, especially around 3500 rpm's. I did most of the install myself, except for a little welding with the catback since it's fitted for a 4thgen. I'm gonna try and get a daytime video/soundclip later, so you guy's can really see the exhaust.

Sounds kinda farty to me....I'm still shooting at building a custom 2.5" catback only because I'm running tubular headers on my "90" and I'm breathing better up top and on the bottom....If I didn't have headers 2.25" would be my choice....
So what's the size of your rear muffler and resonator? They sound like 14"ers each....One of my choices is using Aero Turbine mufflers and resonators they seem to have something special there....and the other choice is using Magnaflow components 22" resonator and muffler....Give us an "In Cabin" while cruisin video....Thanks

Actually I have 3 setups I'm considering...the 2 above plus my cheap but quiet and effective Thrush 20" turbo muffler and a 23"x 4" round resonator for the cheap...and some aluminized mandrel bend 2.5" tubing......

Your links are all screwed up. Should be like this:

Anyway.. more pics of the y-pipe? And again, the brand of this y-pipe is "Complete Exhaust Systems"? I still never got a coherent answer out of you. From what I can see on the bend down area right above the sway bar (right at the 02 sensor in the pic), looks like it's crush bent?

Also, that muffler looks like something I had 11 years ago as a sophomore in high school when I first got a Maxima

Yeah the y-pipe is similar 2 stock design, a little better but I'm planning on eventually getting a warpspeed y and a different muffler. They are both good for now but when I turbo/get enough money I will upgrade the y-pipe/muffler, there both not my first choices but work really good for what I paid. I really want a Borla muffler to go w/the warpspeed y-pipe and the turbo of course. Yeah my original exhaust was shot and I didn't have 1200 dollars 2 spend on what I really wanted, I did the best with what I had, I'm very happy with the results. I'm also in the middle of another project, it's the Volvo 850 in the backround of one my pics(Silver 1), the 850 is in great shape w/97000 on the odometer, fully loaded, really fast for a 96', yeah I gotta have 2 whips hooked up 2 ride around in, this way I put less wear n' tear on them.
