EZ spoiler hole fix
This place is deader than a zombie baby on Halloween. My car isn't finished so until then I have nothing to share other than simple **** like this. It took me 45 minutes looking for a suitable metal when I happened to see a bottle cap on the floor. Problem solved! Simple and easy, plus you get a nice buzz getting the parts I used a $.99 two part epoxy and held them down with a couple bricks.

Damn that's ghetto...
at least you could have painted the caps with some body color spray paint and glued them on from the bottom. clean and remove all the old sticky crap off the trunklid while you're at it.

Oh jeeze.. The goal is to keep rain out so I can go ahead and install certain things in the trunk which are susceptible to moisture. Obviously I reinstalled the spoiler. Temporarily, as I have an aftermarket one I need to do some work on and paint before permanently installing it.
BTW Matt, I would have sealed the the holes from underneath, if it weren't for the fact that you cant get at them from underneath Which is why I needed a metal that was thin but strong, in order to make it as flush as possible.

Fortunately it doesn't matter how it looks, I thought I cleared that up.. The goal is to STOP LEAKS, not shave the spoiler, prep the surface for remounting, or make it look good. Should I have filled the holes with bondo? Cut into the tubular steel reinforcement of the trunk lid to gain access underneath the holes? Nah, it's called smash 4 bottle caps, glue them over the holes, reinstall the rotting and rusting stock spoiler until the new spoiler is ready. Meanwhile my trunk doesn't leak anymore, so I am free to move on with more important matters.

Swapping the spoiler from the donor to the shell and I'm using this here glue. Been using it for years gluing the big capacitors to the chassis of my audio power amp designs. It should provide a water tight seal me thinks, thus circumventing the need for "the Hectic solution" .
