Do these symptoms indicate a blown head gasket?
My 92 VE5 has recently started eating coolant. The coolant level goes down, but I can't find a leak anywhere. Also, a white smoke comes out of the tailpipe if I rev the engine, and a liquid drips from the tailpipe. From what I've seen from researching online is that these symptoms seem to indicate a blown head gasket. I wanted to double check here, though, in case there's some other possible cause.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Check your spark plugs if they are green then yes it is. Also check oil filler cap and dipstick, milky discolouration indicates blown head gasket. It is likely that your car will overheat when driven thus should be put out of service straight away if possible. Please note that if you have done any major mechanical work recently this may not be the case. There are tons of threads on this subject have a look around using the search function if available to you.

Losing coolant and white smoke is a bad sign and usually means HG. If it was just white smoke alone it can be condensation, your pcv system not doing it's job cause it's clogged. Is there any oil in coolant? You can dump the oil into a big pan and look for coolant, you should see the coolant because as everyone knows, it seperates' from the motor oil. If it was either of the 2 symptoms alone then I would say different but those 2 symptoms together is my worst nightmare.

As was stated check both coolant and oil for milky discoloration if so hg could be the case. Note coolant can leak and not be seen if in slow steady small amounts where it evaporates before touching the ground. Check all heater hose lines and coolant lines. Especially those lines above the transmission as I've had coolant leak on the transmission and puddle up on it and never saw any coolant on the ground.

You can have a HG leak coolant into the cyliders but not into the oil. If exhaust is billowing white smoke even when the car is warm, then yeah, probably a HG. Especially if the exhaust smells like anti-freeze. Remove plugs and see if one if them is wet
