Just wondering what you guys think I should do about a grille? I have the 93 gxe chrome and tried to take it off and paint it. I tried to paint the outside white and the inside/fins black. I went and bought some tape to mask off the white that I did first and the moron that sold it to me told me that it would not stick to the new paint, he was wrong. I got the inside painted but when I pulled off the tape it took sections of the white with it. Now with the inside done, I can't really tape off the black part of it to paint it white again because it won't seal off the black part correctly, especially between the fins. Does anyone have one of the grille tech inserts? Would it look like crap in there? Or should I just buy a white se?

 

Just buy a white SE grille. I took the extra time to wetsand, prime and wetsand mine. Shes ready for color. Your probably using latex paint which is like elastic. I tried oil base once and I didn't have that problem.

 

I bought a can of 326 Dupli-color spray for the white, sanded and primed it before paint

 

Then more than likely it wasn't dry enough. May have seemed dry but the evidence shows. Just get a white SE grille. If you can't find one then continue on but let it dry all day in the sun next time. I use to have a spare white 92-94 SE grille but I sold it. Sorry.
