Clutch or Tranny?

Well i was pulling out into a street in 1rst(very carefully because wet and cold out) than all of sudden i heard a sound and the whole car starts to shutter to a stop. I could not get it out of 1rst even with as much force as possible here i am in the middle of a main road with this, so i had to floor it to get it to shutter to a parking place. Is this my clutch? because the clutch pedal feels normal. clutch still engages to neutral but cant drive or get out of first. it sounded like my tranny fell out of my max!! Damm it I just got a tranny rebuild 5 months ago and centercrap clutch 8 months ago

I assume you gave all those new/refurbished parts the needed break-in time and mileage?????

Mine did something similar the other day... the only way I could get it to move again was to grab one of the front wheels and roll it backwards...
It may be your CV joints.. that's what my tranny shop told me, and I'm going to change mine this weekend and see what happens.

it's been making a pretty sickening "thunking" sound while I'm driving. I made him put it in writing that if I took his advice and replaced a CV joint that they would rebuild my tranny for free if it turned out to be the tranny and the thing blew up on me.

Sometimes, my car wont's go into 1st easily. I have a B&M shifter fabrication and an ACT clutch. It also made a swoosh noise when I started to put it into gear. Come to find out the guy who installed my clutch & shifter (an AAMCO employee friend of mine) did it wrong and my throw out bearing was bad. I got it replaced and now I'm all good, does that make sense? Have you ever heard the swoosh??!
