Yeah, if only 3rd genners would be ready to purchase that. If was still an owner, I definitly would.

Spending $192.00 on a 20yr old car would most likely be put to better use than copping an FSTB. I like my turd gen but would I blow that much on such a thing...I doubt it.

True, but thats what killed the third gen aftermarket I bet. People too worried about spending money on the cars they love

Lmfao not that big of an enthusiast if your not willing to spend money on good quality suspension parts lol. Me personally just see it in an investment for my car I love. I will probably end up spending more into my VE5 then most on here. But that is just how much of an enthusiast I am compared to most. Not trying to put down anyone just stating it as I see it.

+1

If I still owned the car and didnt rush into my 2nd car purchase which ultimately led me to my VE seperation, I would have definitly spent on quality stuff any chance I could. Im spending about the same on stock dealer parts for the car I own now, and I haven't drove it in 2 months cause I dont want to pay for the labor and waiting for weather to get better so I can do everything myself

Hey man I could be a bigger enthusiast but with not as much funds lol rly can't judge the love someone has for their car by the amount of money they spend on parts there's a lot of other factors involved, ppl here including myself use these cars as dd's and somtimes when times are rough you jus gotta go with what's gonna get you to work and back, even tho I may have wanted matts super cool paralel link set ( jus for xample lol but a lil exgerated) but I def see what your saying if you got it and lov it then spend it, open and shut case.

I don't think you're spending more than I am, buddy. And my 3rd gen ain't no relic parked up in my back yard either...I drive the thing everyday and bring her closer to factory feel as I go along. I'm more into restoration than modding. I've been a Nissan enthusiast/owner for about thirty years and still going strong...when did you get on the bus.

I don't understand you...elusivemax, I get. He's just all emotional about his TK3 and wants us to know he takes more pride in his 3rd gen than we do, and that's ok because it helps him to keep going at it. You on the other hand, chose the Bimmer over the Max. I remember when you kept driving it with a faulty gearbox. So you're saying you would blow $192.00 on a FSTB but keep driving your beloved 3rd gen with a rumbling drivetrain. Remember when Danny Glover said "I'm too old for this". Reality and fantasy are opposites and when the money isn't flowing like water the choices we make can either flop us or take us to the next step...

Just because you pour money on bolt-ons and replacement parts doesn't mean you're more of an enthusiast than anyone else. I have stacks of service records well into the several thousands of $$ from Maximas that I bought on the cheap from people who definitely were not what you would call enthusiasts. But they still dumped a lot of money into their cars. Another example is the countless amount of people here who get into their first ever Maxima, don't even understand what the cars are all about but still waste no time lowering it and slapping some rims on. Just your typical example of "hey I want my car to be unique, time to lower it, get some rimz and exhuast", and drop a couple thousand in the process. It doesn't necessarily mean they're enthusiasts.

I luv the car the way it is, I don't need to butter her up with makeup and lipstick. A lot of these guys are really enthusiasts of modding. That's why you see the occasional thread where the guy mod the hell out the car and then loses interest and sells it.

Though it is possible to wana butter the car up, lower it, exhuast and rim it and remain a enthusiast of the car I mean its not as often as you'd like to see but still exsistent. I personally am not a fan of cosmetic work if so then its rly gotta fit with the look and still be in moderation of course.

Im a tough guy to understand sometimes.. I agree. I mentioned this before to you, but it didn't seem to register. Lets try this again. I was working at an average job making average money when I decided to purchase a second car with an automatic tranny(manual sucks in NY)and turn the VE into a project car(my dream). The second car as you know is the Bimmer. Around the same time, I was having alot of problems in my life, and at work, and had to leave my job at my own free will. Yes, it was a mistake, but at the time, I didn't care. Unemployed and stuck with 2 cars and no place to put the VE, nor able to afford insurance for it, I was forced to make the obvious choice. Selling the BMW, I would have lost a 3rd of the value for it. Selling the VE, I would have only lost a few hundred bucks. Especially that it was starting to have problems worth close to $400 minus the reverse gear issue in the tranny. Also after driving an 03' BMW, can you really blame me? There really is no comparison. Only thing better on the VE is the top end to tell you the truth. By a margain. Oh and the roominess. Thats it. The ride is a night and day difference. BklynsmoeVE knows what Im talking about. And he also knows what kind of enthusiast I am. You really should stop doubting me Augustus. Im still here, aren't I?
