Chrome, let me restate my post for you once more. The United States Federal Government has deemed all rhd nissan skyline GT-R's 32's, 33's, 34's contraband in the united states and they ARE confiscating all skylines in the united states including the supposed crashed tested R 33. Do some reasearch and you will see all skylines not usa made are contraband regardless of if you bring it in as two parts or not. Also even a rolling shell is also contraband as seen in the post I had posted if the administrator of skylines USA had his rolling shell gt-r 33

Yeah I read about that Skyline BS in my Super Street Mag, some guy got arrested/charged with importing illegal Skyline parts. Yeah that's right he tried to bring the Skyline to America in parts...that's FFFF'd up for the people that got the dough to buy one. Guess if you want one it's gonna have to one that's made for the U.S., there aren't many.

Tools, I know a fairly new motorcycle mechanic with $100,000.00 in tools -

Also, I've got a kid working for me who recently graduated a motorcycle mechanic school, his bill was $30K -

Sounds like you guys got off cheap!

The motivation/wrench time your putting into your 3rdgen has got me going full force again with my 3rdgen. I'm doing the rest of my suspension (B&G lowering springs, strut mounts, control arms, tie rod ends, sway bars and sub frame connectors). I did the front drive axles with new ball
joints, sway links and front strut tower brace already. I cant' wait until I'm finished installing everything so I can start ordering some other stuff I wanna hook up...keep wrenching!!

Glad my work has motivated you to work on yours. I know my TK3 is my pride and joy. Im probably nearing 3k in what I have bought for mine lately in parts and other stuff. Got 2 15" 3515 DD Subwoofers for mine that retail for $800 for both plus tax.

Yeah if I'm counting from the summer then I'm close to 3 grand but some of it was regular PM's and repairs. I'm also into another project in the Volvo 850 I copped about a year ago when my pockets were almost empty but a year later my wallet has green paper inside instead of bills/receipts. I took a picture the other day of my 3rdgen next to the new GTR at Smithtown Nissan LI, I put the pic in my sig. The wheels/BBS(Big Brake System) are sick, there way to bigg for our 3rdgens but I wouldn't a set of the GTR's you got. I bring up the topic of wheels cause I'm having trouble finding tires for my 16x7.5 Rims. I was at Firestone yesterday buying two new tires for the 16 inch rims on my Volvo and was trying to get a quote for the AM rims for my 3rdgen but they didn't have anything that wide in a 16inch I was told. I thought was crazy cause there's still plenty of guys with 16's that wide and 7.5 really isn't that wide anyway, atleast in my mind. Any suggestions on where to go, maybe some Pirellis ??

Try 205/55/R16 that is what my 97 se rims have on them and they are 7.5's.

I have to say the 350Z track wheels look REALLY good on the 3rd gen. I think it looks much better than most wheels.

Does anyone have pics of the SE-R wheels on the 3rd gen?

I'm currenlty running wheels from a 1995-98 Nissan 240SX SE painted gunmetal. They look ok but would rather have a larger wheel like 17".

Whats off set dead2fall? Cuz 245 means your over sized for 8" wide rims. My GT-R 34 rims are 18x9 on 245/40/R18 and the tires are straight with the face if the rims.

Lol I see I'm trying not to have to reduce tire width by doing a bit of negative camber and having my fender inner lips rolled to get the 245/40/R18's to fit without making contact with the fenders. And my offset is +30

i rolled my fenders myself... all u need is a "larger" metal hammer, and a rubber mallet... then bang emm in... i did it with no paint crack and now my wheels fit all the way around it wasn't hard, it just took a while, about an hour a wheel well

Coo im pull first my parts car motor out since im pulling mine so once I finish my repair while build the spare block to turbo. Then ill go for the fenders while I have part taken to a machine shop to get work done on the flow of the intake and exhaust ports. Maybe a bit of boring maybe not still deciding whether too now or wait for the other block lol.

actually what i will do to anyone that tries to steal them, If they can find the keys to the wheel locks. Not just your basic set of wheel locks you buy from your local parts store. Let me tell you they make the Maxima look marvelous.

245's should fit on an 8" wide wheel. Good fitment is 225/50, but I think 245's with a lower profile should fit fine. I would've gone 245's, but I'm not flowing in dough.

On the Maxima, I'm rolling on 215's on a 7.5" wheel. 205 is OE fitment, I think.

Shiloh, unfortunately, if you want wider tires, you gotta source them online. Very few tire shops carry wide tires with low profiles. They only carry what the majority of people use.

yeah OEM is 205/65/15

i dont even buy fancy tires, i got my Talons for $50 nearly new, and some used fancy Goodyear ones for free (guy ditched them off his Aristo), all 235/45/17

i go through tires like its out of style, the tires on my GXE rims have a crapload of camber wear

Lol why do people keep thinking that numbers like 205, 235, 245 are what profile the tire is. Low profile means the amount of side wall your tire has. Which is,those numbers you see after the three digit number. 35 series 40 series 45 series are the tires profile. So in 245/40/R18 your low profile number is 40 not 245.

depends on the look you're going for... i have 255/40 and 275/40 on 17x9's on my Z31, and they are FAR less bulged than the Maxima's stock 205 on a 6 inch wide rim. in therms of tire-mm-per-wheel-inch:

205/6.0 = 34.2 (stock GXE)
205/6.5 = 31.5 (stock SE)

245/8.0 = 30.6 (his R34's)
245/9.0 = 27.2 (your setup)

255/9.0 = 28.3 (my fronts)
275/9.0 = 30.6 (my rears)

the I30 began when the 4th gen maxima came out and we can put 97 se rims from the 4th gen on our 3rd gens as i have a set of 97 se's aside from my GT-R rims. there is no question if they will or will not fit because the I30 and maxima of 4th gen are one in the same aside from a few body differences and the luxury extras.

If you zoom into the fender areas you can see where they tried to erase away to make it look like if the car was actually that low. But it isn't its a fake. Especially if you look at the back bumper you can see the bumper of the real car sticking out just a little bit. Whoever tried photoshoping this really needs to go back to school for it because they really cant photo manipulate lol.

That was TripleGMax's car. Car was real, it did in fact have G35 wheels, but was not that damn low.
