What Kind of Wheels should I get for My Max??
I've been looking at wheels for the last month now..really much longer but now I'm ready to actually buy some. I'm looking at new/used wheels packages and just rims. I've across a couple of good used deals on some good rim/tires packages but I still have rear drums and they wouldn't look right to me. So now that I'm going to do the rear disc swap I figure I can get whatever I want to a point. I came across these 16" rims that look tight but there only 16's when I was really planning on 18" or even 17" rims. I'm looking for opinions on the 16" here...16x7.5 w/38mm offset.

Yeah 17"/18" rims are gonna be heavier usually but how do 16" rims handle as far as traction is concerned yah know. I don't even think these will be permanent since they are used...maybe I'll just get them for now until I finish with what I'm into concerning my 3rdgen. I have another kinda project ride(96' Volvo 850) that i'm also presently working on and I'm planning/looking at copping another Ride.

not if you get some genuine 17" Rays Volk for $200
are you looking for aftermarket rims or no? if you dont want aftermarket, IIRC Z32 non-turbo, R32 GTS (dont think GTR), 5 bolt Z31, and Altima rims will fit.

I'm rocking G35 coupe 18's...I get a lot of complements. I think that means it looks pretty good. In this day and age only budget entry level cars come with the small a$$ rims some of these nostalgia heads are recommending. Oh and she goes up to a buck forty five quicker than you can get there.

Yeah I'm going aftermarket unless I get a good deal on some Infiniti wheels or a set from a Z.

This maxima with those rims have been photoshoped. I should know my signature is photoshoped the tsw sakata 5 rims just to see what they would look like. I'm good at photoshopping images.

I hear you, when the tire wall is like that it tends to stretch causing a loose or sloppier ride. That's whats going on especially with a factory 3rdgen wheel. The only good thing about tires like this is if you hit bumps or live around bumpy roads.

Yeah those SE-R wheels look alright and I know there almost undestroyable but the rims I originally posted were offered for only 2 bills...that being said I can't pass up. Until I decide where I'm going with this ride I'm not dumping bundles of dough on exterior parts. I like how they look, there a small upgrade from factory and the price is right.

And where are you going with it bro...rear disc brake swap, maybe something a little more robust up front. Big rims and rotors is the order of the day. These simple upgrades pull the old classic forward in time. No?

Yeah I went and copped those 16's tonight, there in excellent shape and for 200 I can't go wrong. I'm most likely gonna do the rear disc brake swap and the front bigger. I still have some suspension parts that I haven't installed yet and a bunch of stuff to do on my Volvo 850(PCV system/SAS pump). The springs for Max need to be done, strut mounts, tie rod ends, sway bars and I might just replace control arms even though they have new ball joints/bushings are good. I just did front motor mount a couple of weeks ago and want to do the other mount. Yeah I'm going to still put money into her, I was talking about boosting. After taking everything into consideration I figure I'll be about 10 grand into her before she is the way I want her. I'll keep her still doing all PM's, replace everything that needs to be replaced, get all the bolt ons I can and dope up the exterior.

The 7 bar infiniti wheels def look sick tucked. But I'm biased towards the mustang 17s lol ran those same style on my 4th gen 2 summers ago. Any body run cobra r 5 bars yet or too wide? I know my cobras were 17x9 and HIGHLY doubt I culd fit them on the back w/ the suspension design on our gen
