loved her so much I had to let her go

Thus the reluctant sale of my 3rd gen which I have spent the last 6 months repairing and spending money on.

My new job involves lots of driving in railway yards mud, gravel train lines in my own car.

I could envision my poor max dying under such conditions and so she has gone to a new home where she will be looked after.

I only wish I could have afforded to keep her but alas, it is not so. Perhaps I will meet her again in another place and time but not for now, to prevent becoming the essence or embodiement of my screen name,

So your daily driver is going to be the car you will be wallowing in the mud with every day? I'd have kept the Max and bought something like an old Pathfinder or pickup for work.

That's why most of us circumvented this nonsensical thread, brother Hectic.

Nonsensical as you may see it to be, it was merely a poetic description of my Dillema.

Funnily enough being in Australia you will find The prices of cars here are vastly different to the US as well as the availability in my region.

Granted my daily driver is the one I work in but since I am working between 6 and 7 days a week, there isn't much daily drive time.

Also registration fees for cars here are on the side of extarraneous so having two cars plus my partners is simply not feasible, both myself, her and my child also need to eat.

Thanks for Your replies though, albeit some of them not well thought out or particularly along the sentiment to which the thread was posted. Augustus...

The story would not have made sense until the other half was posted. And if this job should kill your current vehicle...what then.

Current vehicle is an 84 Nissan patrol (never sold in US) and they are renowned for being unbreakable. But there is a far less likely chance of it breaking then the max who was already feeling the effects after but a week.

Main point being, the patrol is made for 4x4 conditions, the max was not. Hard decision but had to be done.

At least you kept it in the family... Man, I had to drag it out of you, huh .

Looks like a pretty good mud vehicle.
