Parking brake sticking

Recently this problem has been getting worse for me. When I drive car in the morning after the car has been sitting overnight with the e-brake on one caliper or the other does not release when I take the brake off (does not happen every morning but it's getting more regular). Both calipers are less than a year old. Is this a common problem? I am guessing there is a problem back at the junction (by the spare tire) where it branches off to either side. The reason I say this is because its either one side or the other that will stick, but usually not both. Any one with experience with this? If it matters my car is a 92 se, I have Z31 rotors in the rear as well.

It's the cables going from the handle to the caliper..they seize up inside...

So just get a new right a left cable? Is there another fix? According to rockauto they are between 60-70 each.

no other fix that i know of...you could check your local j-yards for some..just be sure to get them off a rear disc 3rd gen, as the drum cables are different..

not only that, but the caliper-side fitting changes based on year. iirc the 89-90 style is the same as the handbrake-side (cylindrical), but the 91-94 is a rectangular hook

this should be the same type that cardana has (since z31 rotors require the later style caliper)

Just replace the cable if that's already been isolated as the actual problem.....I would disconnect the caliper E-brake cable end and the ebrake handle end as well to ensure it's the L/H or R/H cable or both!

Or you could try taking the cables off and getting some WD40 down inside of them. Always worth a try.
