yea i'll hold onto it... basically i bought 2 cars, one with a dead motor, one with a working motor (which i accidentally killed 200 miles after buying the car ), so i ended up with 2 of everything. i assume (hope) you would be coming to pick it all up? shipping for a tranny would kinda suck.

soooooo Napa cant get air filters, and regular paper ones are about $40 shipped from Ebay might rig up a CAI or something

rad got in and everything is finished but a rear axle seal is leaking whoever inspected the car was retarded and/or blind to miss a obvious rad leak and leaking axle seal. my boss at least is being nice about it and said not to worry for a few more months and i can get a new seal in myself at work

possibility i could get another 3rd gen, cant justify driving the Supra in winter so im looking for a AWD/4WD Surabu or Toyota Tercel wagon. if a 5spd 1st-3rd gen pops up i could consider it as well

Supra needs a clutch slave at least i ordered one just incase a while ago and at least the tranny is right in the open

all of my cars are on a hoist more than the road

they do even though you might have to import them there like we do here in australia but importers here import them all the time...we have the nissan stagea that comes in RWD and AWD....the older models have RB25DE(T) and the AUTECH comes in RB26DET.....and the newer models come in RWD and AWD aswell and come with VQ's

older model this is the autech with the RB26DET

this is the newer shape that has VQ's

3rd gen would have needed a engine, tranny, and a bunch of other stuff. engine was in no way rebuildable, the crank was absolutely done and it cooked a bearing and started knocking. tranny too would have probably been better to replace than rebuild

Supra the engine bay has a ton of room, tranny is right in the open, and i can jam any RWD straight 6 into it. and if i turbo the 4M it should have no problem taking it

pretty much all the 3rd gens stuff is gone, seats, harnesses, Rays wheels, everything

i cant seem to win, pretty much everyone on here said to ditch the 3rd gen because of how much i put into it, its heavy, FWD, and 4drs and to be l337 and get a RWD 2dr real car and i do and now we're back at it

That's why I kept my two Max's and snagged a 300Z, so forum-wise I'm over qualified. I kept it Nissan and driving VE30DE, VG30E and VQ35DE all day everyday. Yawn...

Sorry to hear bro...not selling mine not because it ain't got no issues, but because I made that car and in doing so I put thousands of dollars and man-hours into it. And what a nice car to drive, especially when I'm on the highway and some bozo thinks he can take me when I'm in the mood for a lil spirited driving.

i had ALOT of bad going on

-both main seals leaking
-tranny housing leak
-power steering leak
-needed a alignment/camber bolts and was too low for the roads here
-engine knocking
-tranny bogging in 1st
-surprised the KYB struts lasted that long low, i was told they would last a few months and when it was taken away, they were still fine

You so did not help the issue with your new sig pic. LOL! I can't wait to take a similar pick with my 5.5 & 3 gen. By the way I like your fogs Augustus.

I wasn't one of those guys..

I'll go on the record, again, as saying that the desire for RWD and two doors has nothing to do with the 3rd gen. So you want RWD and two doors? Then get a RWD and two doors. Why does that mean one has to abandon the 3rd gen?

Is car-modding/ownership exclusive to one platform?

Never really understood that mentality here that people have to sell their 3rd gen in order to do this or that with another car. Do both.

i'll smoke yo Cressida

nah i dont care about platforms, no matter what the 3rd gen was basically done but even years ago i was told alot to just ditch it

i'll even gladly take a FWD winter car, i was actually going to buy a old Intrepid someone ditched at work, they were cheap and it just needs a radiator fan and they said screw it just have it. my JDMness wont accept it though.

i kinda want a AE92 Corolla with a 4A-GE

clutch slave was to work on, right at the lower left of the tranny smack in the open. axle seal was just as easy.

We're "back at it" because of your close minded mentality, not because of what car you own, and I really hope you didn't make car purchasing decisions based on other people.

yeah, can't really compare a RWD coupe to a FWD sedan

I sold my Maxima because I had more economical transportation available and was simplifying life for college.

I'd love to pick up another 3rd gen some day for fun but right now I have an AWD sedan for my winter car and my Mustang for a summer/project car which doesn't leave much room for a second project car for the time being.

Okay fellas I'm back! ! Never really left physically but mentally I was frustrated with the front end work. Doing that shyt in my driveway in 90 degree weather made it a nightmare. Long story short, my 3G has new lca's, tie rod/tie rod ends, lower ball joints, sway bar links and new tie rod boots. Putting the B&G springs in next with the camber kit I got. After that's done I can finally put the new wheels on her.

Nice. I just ordered $400 more in parts for my black VE. I think I've got close to a grand in new parts sitting waiting to go in. I need to buy a few dealer-only items though. I'm doing all of the same you did plus a few more things... in 100+ degrees. We've had 21 straight days of 100+ degree temps in Dallas and it looks like it will go another 15 days at least. It's crazy, it's 85 by 9 in the morning and still 90+ at 9 at night.

Hopefully by the fall my black VE will be completely rebuilt and just need new paint But then even after paint I'll still be under $4-5k total for a pretty much brand new car

Good stuff bro. I just made a small crack in upper right corner of my heads up display windshield....damn it hurts!! It's like a grand just to get the windshield cause it's so rare. It's not that big but it bothers me. I'm to blame cause I did it by accident. You can't even notice from the outside but it bothers me seeing the crack and knowing there's no way I'd ever spend a grand on a piece of glass. I can get a new windshield installed for 250.00 and it comes with new railings around the edge. I was thinking about searching the junk yards for a heads up display windshield but it was impossible to find a sending unit for the digi dash. I'll just leave it for now cause I got bigger fish to fry. You got ac in your 3G Dallas? We've had record breaking 100degree temps here in NY.

+1 I got 2 other rides sittin' out front and I'm slowly working on all of them. I got a 2door now but she's FWD (99'Lude). My other ride is the legendary Volvo 850 with 2.3L Turbo. The 850 is another 4DSC in my eyes and she handles nicely for a family car. The post I made about maybe selling my 3G was solely out of frustration and not anything else. I got 2 other cars I could sell if I ever want to get a Z or a G type ride.

The new one looks like the Volvo S70 R model. I'd definatly get one if possible.

the ONE place i didnt want it to go, i want to puke just thinking about it. i thought by selling it to a actual guy he would take what he could use and crush the rest

the Supra goes for the new tranny tomorrow so im going to hitch a ride in the next few days to the junkyard and see it

You didn't even have the exhaust long. Hope you got your moneys worth or it would've been a waste to put an exhaust on a car to be sent to the jy.

lol i got royally screwed, i had only a evening to part whatever out. i had it up for sale as whole for a $300 i think it was, but you'll never sell something with a blown engine and tranny whole unless its something popular/of value like a Z/S13/etc. if i had more time i would have drove it to work and stripped it

all i could grab were the headlights, corner lights, and grille. the guy bought the whole car for $100, and he got the Ypipe, exhaust, brand new full suspension, new radiator, everything, and the junkyard probably gave him $50ish for the rest of the shell

i had over 10 grand in it over the last year i knew the engine was toast because of the crank and was going to replace it soon but the tranny blowing up was sudden, especially both going within a week of eachother lol

and the cost of the tranny tomorrow was going to be winter car money. oh well lol

I would've kept it in storage or something similar. Got another car to get around in and converted the 3rd gen to 5spd and swapped in a new motor. Therefore new slate with the motor and not having to deal with the autotragic ever again.

And 7 months ago I had everything you need to do a 5spd swap for your car.

By the way your the JDM junky here. Did you know there is such thing as JDM air fresheners? I found this out last week and thought, "Oh Boy! What will they call JDM next?"

Let it go son...life is all about making decisions and living with them. Can't move forward if you spent ALL your time looking over your shoulder. Just get another turd gen and be wiser this time. We will forgive you.
