I want those seats too!

Looking through a scan of the 2nd gen Maxima, I came across these seats:

They look really nice and comfortable, why didn't they continue to use those

Probably cost, plus buttons are more of an 80's thing

The only 2nd gen I've been in had cloth seats.

For a couch in a doctors office, yes. For my car? no. Give me a set of Sparcos or Recaros any day.

those seats are definitely comfy(for the 80's). my 2nd gen has them. The buttons don't bug either, even if you sit for an extended period of time. the only issue I have is trying to find someone who can re-upholster them in the original style affordably. mine have shown their sun baked age.

My Aunt bought a 2G just like this one shown here. I still remember my cousin braggin' about having the new Maxima. My aunt was married to a multi millionaire before buying the Maxima...that being said the Max was actually a step or two down from all of her previous rides(Town Cars, Mercedes, BMW's). An old highschool buddy of mine had 2G diesel back in the early 90's. That diesel had some nice top end but had that Mack truck rumble to her.

worn-in seats like that are the best thing next to worn-in vinyl seats

never have cared for leather seats, or stock cloth seats. the Sparco cloth seats were comfy though. Chrysler 300c Hemi leather seats are pretty comfy
