The hard part is getting the injectors out of the rail, unless you don't mind damaging them. Taking the plenum off is just time consuming. You only need 1 gasket if you take the plenum off with the throttle body. Over the years I've read some people say to remove the TB, but there's no reason to.

Yeah just pull the UIM without taking off the TB in place, it's less work. Injector is not hard to get out either.

Here is a tutorial written by one of the org members. It's pretty comprehensive. Be sure to read the thread as well, has a few experience points not specifically noted in the tutorial.

I leave some of my vac hoses hooked up. So I just flip mine over to the side (trans side). You have to disconnect the hoses in the back and unbolt from the support brackets that are bolted to the rear head. Of course remove coil packs, throttle cables, breather pipe, IM studs, vac piping to TB and IM on TB side. KEEP TRACK OF WHAT HOSES GO WHERE! Always my issue upon reassembly. Once you've done all of that you'll see the rest of what you need to remove (not much) air valve solenoid (whatever its called) etc. As Hectic said not hard just time consuming and tedious. As for the injectors my index finger and thumb developed blisters and were sore. Twist back & forth while pulling up. Once edge is up a bit use a flat head to pry the rest up and out.

Oh! If they've never been replaced before then you'll need an impact driver to remove those lil screws for the pinnacle caps. A screwdriver will strip them and make the rest of your day a living hell. Upon reassembly replace with new hex head screws from hardware store. I got mine from Lowes. Now life is easier with a 8mm when I have to change them out.

Yeah sorry, I'm from Aus. We only have VG here so force of habit to assume, especially when not specified.

Carry on!

Thing is the more you do this the faster you get. If you've never done it (obvious as to why your asking) it might take you 2.5 hours. You would need one gasket (intake manifold gasket). I suggest you buy o-ring kits for the injectors you are replacing. If not you'll end up having to go back in there to correct your mistake. Which means more money and time burnt.

I think

that the knock sensor is bad-- thus your lack of power.

Man! Im trying to find my thread where I installed my intake spacers and changed my Knock Sensor at the same time... Its real easy though. Just start taking parts off. The annoying part is when you have to unbolt all the crap/support bracket on the back side close to the firewall. Have fun and remember where everything goes! No extra parts lol.

EDIT:
Found it! I could have sworn I had my own thread. starting at post #75... its not really instructions but ehhhh. It shows how far you need to go to get to the valley
