intake making 101
goto a local shop and ask for a "mass air sensor adapter" for your max (i believe theyre all the same). next, pick up a cone filter and hose clamp.
remove everything from the MAFS *foreward* (as in away from the engine).
bolt up the adapter to the sensor, get some tubing if you'd like to route the filter inside the fender (like me)..
otherwise, pop on the filter, tighten the hose clamp and go for a ride.
for further excitement, remove the black hose/pipe between MAFS and TB, remove the big plastic thing that goes nowhere (intake resonator), find something to plug that hole...lots more bad@$$ noise.

i've posted pics before. try searching. what you do is remove the clam and the intake muffler. a jar lid actually fit perfectly in there!!! sounds crazy, but it works really well. if you want to make a pop charger, just drill out the 2 rivits in the stock air box, and remove the brass ring. bend that a little and you can just clamp the cone onto there. . . . . it works really well.

as far as the noise goes, if you just make a pop and leave it at that, its alot louder. intake noise is much better than exhaust. i was very disappointed that when i added the CAI-ness to my intake, it got alot quieter, but i guess the power increase is worth it.

thanks for the correction. I've notice a little more pick up, took off the overdrive, and kept up with a L Dog up to third gear, after that he spit me out
