I'm hoping to finish a bunch of work I started. I want to finish all the steering/suspension work; I have B&G lowering springs, new strut mounts, new front control arms w/bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends/inner tie rods, ES sway bar bushings front/back, Eidbach camber kit and 16x8 rims. Most of that stuff is installed, but I haven't bought the tires yet. Really want to do the projector lenses this year and a ground effect kit w/paint job. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Happy Chanukah to my Jewish people(I'm half Jew myself).

I would love to paint it, just not sure if I want to spend anymore money on a going on 20 year old car. I Love her, but money is tight. I dont want to dump money into paint just to have some jagoff with no insurance hit it and be out. Grrrrr...... I had the car since '97 and love it to death. Just not sure if it would be worth putting more money into a dying car.

I want to get the radio to work, installed a cheap $49.00 walmart aftermarket unit (Dual), bipassed the stock amp, and it needs help - may be the antenna, may not be.

Also like to replace the thermostat, along with whatever else should be replaced at the same time.....

My black VE should be completely overhauled engine/suspension wise by the end of January. Have everything bought just need to finish some of it (weather permitting, of course). Long-term 2012 plan for it is to get it painted, then I'll have a pretty much 100% original minty black on black leather VE 5 speed

If I can get all that done by the middle of next year, then I'll get back to work on the blue one and finish my seems-like-I'll-never-finish turbo project.

The better question is how many of us will ACTUALLY follow through with these plans? My 10+ years here suggest that the odds aren't good for many of y'alls plans

That's some gnarly rust on the front fenders. What do the strut towers (front and rear) look like?

The strut towers are just fine! (Surprisingly) Its just a little rough on the edges. I'm looking forward to spring to patch up the two rusted through spots. And then paint it the AG2 red again! Once I finish that I hope to find some working replacement speakers for the Bose.

I painted mine, and did alot of work to it. Just wanted it to be nice n shiny. If you really like the car, u will paint it. There are people driving cars alot older than the 3rd gens that look great. But I understand about the insurance, cause someone hit me too.

I may just put in a used low mileage engine, fix the body damage, get 2 new tires or rims, get some 8mm wires and performance exhaust, and I may paint it over to a midnight blue with a black interior, install new rear speakers, tweeters, see if I can find a more aggressive grill, new fog lights ect.

I just actually started a new insurance plan for two of my three vehicles and the 3g Max being one of them. My 3G now has collision, comprehensive and liability of course. I get 3 free tows for each vehicle and I have glass coverage on both of them. I've had to replace the Volvo's windshield out of pocket this past year. My 3G has the HUD and the windshield is like 800 bucks from Nissan(the only place you can find them). My sun roof also has a crack in it from falling branches, so I'm not playing around with this anymore. My old brokerage just refused to sell me a decent coverage plan with collision/comprehensive...so I went through Geico instead. You can pick/choose what ever you want, it's great and price wasn't too bad considering. No brokerage fee save's you quite a bit, my basic liability was 2100.00 for my 3G Max and 96' Volvo 850 GLT w/all safety features(front/side air bags, ABS, ect.) I'm paying about 2500.00 for both for the year and get a careful driver discount and the Volvo gets me a discount being my DD.

Take it back to stock ride height, remove the dead hooker(s) from the trunk, give the car to my eldest son, drive the crap out of my V8 A6.

Easy.

I would really like to fix the fuel pressure regulator, install these new shocks and struts, put some paint on the new hood front bumper and fender, gut the grill and put black mesh behind it, blackout the window trim, and get some black seats to finish my progress on blacking the interior.......it would be a miracle if I could all this done before IA in April

Now that I think about...should I be investing all my time and money on my 3G project?? Maybe I should really start preparations for the beginning of the End of the World!! December 21, 2012. I know this is way off topic but just take a look around at what's going on in our world. I might need a good 4 wheel drive diesel truck with some big tires or something that can handle rough terrain.

Getting some Free 3G Parts Today!!

That's right, a good friend of mine has just sold his 3GSE and the buyer just took the car. He had a bunch of parts laying around, you know the parts we buy with the intention of installing them but just never get around to doing the actual labor. It's like Christmas all over again and I can't wait to see what he has for me. I thought my new ratcheting open end/box end wrenches were my best presents but this might be better. This might motivate me to finally complete what i started this past summer. Happy New Year Everybody!!

I got them all last night from a buddy of mine. He just sold his 3G w/400,000 miles plus on the odo and it still runs good. The best part is his 3G's interior/exterior was very very good condition. As close to mint as you can get with that many miles. Anyway here's what I got; 2 sets of interiors(black), steering wheel, 2 white dash clusters, Brand new coil over sleeves, Brand new Euro headlight lenses w/bulbs, front end parts(new), tail light I needed(mine had small crack in it), center trunk reflector, oem headlight, dash parts(black) and black center console. I got a bunch of other small parts I cant remember right now and for the most part the parts are all in good to new condition. I almost got a new set of Pacesetter headers but his house mate put in trash by accident. Anyway, he gave all this stuff to me because he knows how much I'm into my 3G and because he knows I'll actually use what I can. The white dash clusters are useless to me because I have a digi dash but if anybody needs them then pay for the shipping/handling charges and there yours. There's gonna be some sorting out to do but I'm sure I'll have some left over stuff to give away...I'll just pay it foward.
