My first car but a problem what is it?

Hello everyone for my 18th birthday i am going to recieve a 1994 nissan maxima GXE with 169,000 miles on it however the car has a problem.

for some reason my 1994 nissan maxima when at a stop the car pulls forward harder than usual then stalls out when the car doesnt keep moving.

1. All gears shift normally no stall no delay
2. car idles at its normal rpm
3. car idles calm as always
4. no noises or differences i can hear

some ideas presented were the E.C.U or Torque converter.

its weird because the car can access all its gears and shift modes everything works but it tugs forward as if its in gear or something but the rpm's are low.
what do you guys think the problem is and how much do you think it would cost to repair?
