In a 92GXE probably standard, I have an '89GXE w/digi dash, hud and sonar's but no heated mirrors.

I'm guessing you mean the whole mirror and housing as a unit. It would be easier to find the side view mirrors that match my paint color. Otherwise I'll have to swap out the inners of the mirrors.

not all mirrors are the same. the original 91 VG mirrors I had are a completely different shape than the 94 VE ones I have now.
I have noticed the same difference between gxe, 89-91 and 92-94 are different.
my advice would be to just suck it up, and paint them, or use SE mirrors.
either way, paying for paint, or the slight mis-match of SE-on-gxe mirrors will be well worth the heated mirror function.

Good look on the info, I didn't realize they were different from 89-91 to 92-94. Aren't the SE mirrors all black in color? Let me bother you for 1 more question. Do you know when the heated mirror option was first available? Thanks bro, I appreciate your responses. I'm really trying to get back into my 3G and heated mirrors are a must have.

power mirrors were probably on 92-94 GXE then. theres some small changes on 92-94 like the grille, a bit shorter, center light, etc. why Nissan made 92-94 a bit shorter i dunno

Yes, I also believe the 92-94's had more head room than the 89-91.

I don't recall ever seeing any heated mirrors on any 91- cars, just 92+ (aside from my car, and a few other members who have swapped them, too).

the plugs should be there, you prob have to add the missing fuse
which should have a slot setup and a place on the diagram iirc.

dont forget to use them in the rain and snow as well!

I actually have a drivers side heated mirror in my possesion and a older style passenger side mirror. They are matching in color but different obviously. You can see that the '92 mirror has the 2 connectors and is rounder in shape. I have the heated mirror switch to swap with my non heated mirror switch. All I need now is the passenger side mirror and I gonna have to paint them to match my Max, can't wait!!

Yeah, my GXE is an '89 though, so no heated mirrors just power.

I've seen power folding mirrors on a 3rdgen but how about power folding and heated?? I'm sure this has been talked about way in the past by now but would be new for me. It's been 3 years this past December since I first brought my 3G home.

power folding mirrors did come on 3Gs, JDM 3Gs...they were also heated

grnmxdmn already did the power fold mirror internals swap, the heated mirror is only a stick on element on the back of the mirror glass so they work fine with the folding internals.

So if I got a hold of the JDM mirrors I'd have to switch the glass of the USDM onto the JDM units. Nice!! Thanks bro.

probably not going to find JDM ones, 3rd gens were never popular in Japan because of their size and they exceeded Japans vehicle width limit for the time. theres extremely few 3rd gens around there still so parts are hard to find

+1.....I have an '89 too. My undersstanding is that the wires are all there, just swap switch and mirrors with dual plug instead of single. Easy easy.

LOL! Single dad, and waiting to get garage concreted so I can install my lift. Then, turbo will go in and be gone through, lots of plans: maintenance and upgrades. Just one of several things on list!
Would help. If people would buy some parts, clear my shelves a little!

Absolutely! After the 3rd gen gets redone and back on the road. Then it's on to begin my complete restoration of my 260z.

My older brother's first car was a brown 260z and one of my boys in HS had a brown 260z. My friends springs were so shot that the rear would bounce up/down when he'd pop the clutch. He also had 2 18 inch rockfords stuffed in that small hatch, totally retarted looking but pounded for blocks.

Never thought of someone else doing this power fold, heated mirror thing? anyways, i used S13 internals, they just swap right into the 3rd gen housing. the switch already has the circuits but you will need to modify it a bit. then you need to add 4 extra wires from the mirror plug on the door to the switch. go to my cardomain page and you will see what im talking about. if you have any questions just ask.

were your jdm internals heated? come with the plug on them?

the ones i have arent, so you just have to steal the heated mirror wires and plug from the stock internals

I used my USDM heated mirrors. All i used were just the JDM S13 power fold internals (Motor) thats it. If your car already has power heated mirrors then the only thing you are gaining is just the power fold feature. I am using my original 3rd gen power mirrors but swapped in the S13 power fold motors into them. thats all i did.

It's been a while since I've been on these forums.

I did the folding mirror mod the most expensive way I could back in the day. I didn't have a way to get JDM 3rd gen mirrors back then, as everyone wanted way too much to import them. I wanted to do as little work as possible, and a direct bolt on was preferred. I researched and found a mirror style that matched the 3rd gen, had the folding motors as well as heated mirrors. I came up with a R32 GTS-T. I couldn't find any LHD parts cars, so I bought some regular ones from a guy in Australia. As with most of the folding mirror mods, the angle was wrong so I just swapped the internals into mine. I think the mirrors had an anti-reflective coating, but were not magnified. I was too used to the old mirrors, so it was a bit odd. So I swapped the mirror glass back to the US spec. In the end I spent way more than I should have since I only ended up using the motors.
