Rear Sway Mount Broken!

Crap! My 93 SE's passenger mount just broke off! I've read that you can weld a new one but do I have to fabricate a new mount (which I don't have the skill and equipment) or there are mounts that I can buy?

You can use an L piece of steel and cut to length and drill the hole for the end link. Then you could go with the Blehmco end link upgrade and you upgrade the bracket and end link (if there are any laying around).

Thanks! How the hell I didn't think about that L steel?!? Anyways, what's the diameter for the link bolt?

Get yourself a 1" x 1" angle iron bracket any hardware store or supply should have it....you can use self tapping sheetmetal screws to secure it in place until you get it welded!

Yep, just like this. The angle iron bracket actually fits right into the stock bracket so you don't even have to bother trying to get the old stock bracket off (like a lot of people have done in the past). I also still haven't even bothered to weld this and it's been 2-3 years now

I would just go with the Blehm kit. I just found out that I would have to replace the links as well.

The same brackets are supplied in the kit if you can find one. GL

Those are no longer available, I checked last year. I used a large washer. Had it welded on the existing tab.

If I remember correctly I had to pm Matt and kinda have him tie me into someone from the company to obtain me a set.

Well take a trip to that orange hole in the wall. I mean home depot and get u a piece of "L" steel for about $12. Cut it to length and use some self tapping screws as cmax mentioned. Don't forget to drill a hole for the end link.
