Adjustable sways?

I was just going through a recent modified mag while on the can, and I came across something interesting in a "setting your car up for drift" article.

"If an adjustable bar isn't available for your car, you can make your bars adjustable by having a fabricator weld a plate with adjusting holes on the end of your bars using universal spherical endlinks(like what Whiteline sells). When your practicing, it's much easier to adjust your sway bars to change your car's balance compared to changing springs."

Any of you characters ever tried anything remotely similar on your cars?

There may be some way to make a clamp that attaches to the bar via spherical rod ends! My D21 Hardbody p"up using a Nissan Motorsport adjustable sway bar from Sway-A-Way...so there is a way! Another way is to make two plates one for the lower control arm and one for the swaybar.... I can sketck something for you.....

You should be able to make something like this with a little bit of welding....Here's my sketch:

The Bar is simple a bolt thru a heavy duty channel stock steel, bracket, or an offset steel stock with multiple holes drilled in it for adjustability and the bottom on the LCA in a clevis style or bracket with a bolt thru it as well and all the bushings etc....

Sorry for the late reply. I gotta get back on my forum game.

That doesn't look like a bad idea actually. Looks easy enough. Surprised why nobody has tried this sooner. Your an engineer?

No I don't have the formal training as an engineer neither did Smokey Yunik!!!! But I'm a Licence A&P Aircraft Technician, Automotive technician, communication technician and oilfield equipment mechanic.....Kinda like a "Jack of all trades".....My D21 has a sliding clamp on the swaybar to make the adjustments....I figured this would work great as well!
