coolant leak?
coolant leak?
Today I noticed a relatively small puddle of coolant right underneith where you would drain the oil from. I also noticed a streak of coolant hanging along the side of where we would drain the oil from..sorry I really cant think of the name atm I want to say oil pan..but dont think thats the correct name.
Anyway my question is where could this coolant be leaking from so far back..seems like its trickling down from around the pulleys..im assuming this is my waterpump thats leaking? Im use to seeing coolant leaks closer to the bumper around the rad area never seen coolant further back right behind the oil filter before. I do have 216,000k with original WP I believe...
thanks guys.

I don't know if the VE water pump if it has one, but on the VG pump there is a little hole on the bottom of it that starts to leak when there's something wront with it. It happened to me, so I'm guessing that it's happening to you.
EDIT: Looking at the RockAuto pictures, the VE pump does have the small hole. So check to see if it's coming from there.

Is it on the passenger side of the engine near the belts/pulleys? Your water pump is right up there, so if it's leaking from that side of your engine it's almost definitely the WP.
I can't believe you've gotten over 200k on the original water pump. All mine have gone out well before that.
Definitely "splurge" for an OEM unit. I've had terrible luck with aftermarket VE pumps, and have had to re-do them with OEM ones. It's definitely not a fun job and really stinks to have to re-do it due to an inferior aftermarket unit.

sounds like the waterpump to me as well. only other things you should really do at the same time is replace the thermostat and replace the radiator cap and put new coolant in
and as said go for a OEM waterpump, aftermarket ones can be a pain sometimes
