DIY performance mods tips and advice wanted

I got myself a 3rd gen maxima that I'm busy fixing up. September I'll finalize the car by doin a color change from white to black or charcoal. In the meantime I'm fixing up the suspension, interior, some minor electrical problems and also sorting out my sound. I just wanna know if there are any DIY mods that I can do at home to bring my baby screamin back to life lol. Currently she is more like my 100000 year old mother-in-law than the 18 year old schweeeet stunner she could be. Any help would really be appreciated, with the car or the monster-in-law, haha.

a after marker air filter. you can go pod filter or drop in replacement the still utilizes the stock air filter. msd ignition system. and i fount that readjusting the TPS sensor gives a faster throttle response. i have the tps set up to open up the idle contact point to open up faster then the stock setting (example: instead of opening up at 5 degrees of open throttle i have it open at 1 degree ). set your timeing right or you can advance it a tad to increase your tq (if you advance your timeing you must use 91 pump gas to reduce pinging). the car requires to use 91 gas to get the most of it it can run on 85 but thier are chances of pinging if you drive the car hard.

If you gonna even touch that area you should just get either a JWT pop charger or Stillen pop charger.(same difference) Either one is the best bang for your money.

Even though i never had an issue with my oiled K&N or Stillen intakes on my 3rd gen, i still suggest you get a dry flow filter. No worries about oil damaging your MAF. They are a lot cheaper too......can get an AEM dryflow off eBay for about $50 and the adapters can run $10-15.

Make sure all of your maintenance is done and the car is in good running condition before modifications.

Maintenance before mods...

Read up.....you can start by unrestricting that interior of that plastic intake tube and going with a JWT popcharger, high Flow Warpspeed Cat, an MES catback and most and foremost a JWT ECU!
