5spd swap...clutch pedal issues

is there something there that i can mount the top bolt to or will i have to go without the top bolt?

also is there a spacer that goes on the firewall. does it go flushed to the firewall sheet metal? is there a spacer? the mounting studs seems to be super long...long enough to have something in between.

thanks

What! Danny have a question for us instead of for him? Lol Anything can happen. So you finally gonna make the GXE a 5spd. Finally some action from this man. Now if we can get Wayne to join in the 3rd gen section might actually have a beep on the heart monitor.

I'm not currently with my car to tell you accurately. But I thought the shells were the same regardless of engine or trans. I won't be able to confirm until tomorrow evening.

No "spacer", but the soundproofing material between the mount and firewall is supposed to be there. It's a good half inch worth of foam and that hard black moulding. Might want to hit up the junkyard and cut out that area of soundproofing from a stock 5 speed and graft it in there.

it does have the soundproofing but there is a spacer that is spot welded to the fire wall once the pedal assembly is out of the way you can bend it back and forth to break the spot weld. if you need one i think there is a 5spd car at my local pullapart just let me know.

if you can get it that would be great.
just for reference i'm referring to the spacer between the pedal and the firewall (the two studs from the pedal bracket) not the top bolt.

the sound proofing crumbles in my hand so i'm not sure how well that's going to hold up.
