Chances are youve got the blue bulbs in your car... Take them out if they are the 80 by 100 watt ones. They are just too much power. And they are melting the wires. This happened to mine and I took it to nissan to have them fix it. I dont remember what it cost but let nissan do it so you will know that its done right.

Yeah I believe that APC makes a kit for them but you can also get blue lights at the regualr wattage. I have these now. 45 by 65 watts I think. Around 35 dollars.

yeah..strauss or pep boys sells the connectors for like $4-5 bucks.

I wouldn't stop using high wattage bulbs..the wires arent the problem..it's the pastic connector..it doesn't hold up well to the heat the wires generate.

Not all blue bulbs are 80/100. Alot of them are 40/50 or 55/65 and PERFORM like 80/100..so the wattage is actually low. ..i dunno this will always be a problem.

I had the same problem. I spent a lot of money on the blue lights and put them in. They lasted a very short time until the wirh harness melted. If you pull the harness out I bet the right side of the harness is melted. That is the ground wire. What I did was buy thicker wire guage #10 and grounded it right on top to the body of the car. Of course you are going to have to go to Autozone and purchase 2 new wire harness. Pull out the ground clip in the harness bend the clamp to replace it with the thicker gauge and push it back in the harness. After that you ground it to the body and you ready to go

ok that's fine...so it won't burn at that 10ga..just at another location. it's as strong as the weakest link. it's best to run a relay and heavier wiring.

Negative, I just talked to one of the technicians here at work and he informed me that as long as that negative wire is thick and grounded properly it will work. No relay is required.

make sure you re-wired it correctly, I wired mine worng the first time and the light was dull, fiddled around a little more with the wiring sequence and the light went back to being bright.

That is all you did was add some relays and thicker wire? Well mine hasn't burnt out. I've had them grounded for five months. Hats off to you for your choice.

I've used stock wattage headlamps, and re-wired and replaced the fogs with some massive wattage super high output driving lamps by Piaa. Looks stock when the fogs are off .
