Search the power of ebay! Starter rarely go out but the solenoids do. There easy to rebuild if its not rusted up!

any VG30E 3rd gen uses the same starter (regardless of transmission) and the starter from a VE30DE M/T only (if that engine was offered in Europe?) will also work.

I'm not seeing any non-maxima cars using that starter. But i know that the RS5F50-series manual transmission was also used on US-market 2000-01 Altima models but that doesn't guarantee the same gear teeth etc were used.

Not to hijack the thread but will a VG starter work on a VE A/T?

Nope. They won't even mount into the transmission at all.

According to my computer, Starter compatibility is as shows:

92-94 Maxima DOHC Auto's
89-94 Maxima SOHC (Auto and Manual) + DOHC Manual's

Now my computer does get stingy, maybe other vehicles may work, but what's posted above is guaranteed to work.
