Interior mod-custom center console w/cup holder

Has anyone added a console for cup holders between the shifter and the existing console(covering the e-brake handle)? If so any tips on how to do this. I have been looking for a donor from another vehicle but I can't find anything close to fitting.

with the e-brake handle being right in the middle like it is, that would be kind of hard to do.. there isn't enough space on either side of it to put the width of a cup.some vehicles (like the 4th gen maxima) have the e-brake handle off to one side or the other, making the idea of putting cupholders between the seats much more possible.

Best I think anyone has accomplished is to install a pull out cup holder in the spot below an aftermarket radio. Either cut out a short and wide rectangle, or get the aftermarket radio install kit with the "cover" (for installing EQ's) and just remove the cover, exposing the pre-cut rectangle. After installing the cup holder device, the bottom support automatically drops down when opened, then closes when pushed back in.

I've got an extra cup holder device you can modify to go below your aftermarket radio. I ended up installing my Apexi AVC-r below my radio, so I never was able to use it.

Thanks guys. I was looking at possible removing the e-brake handle( auto tranny so I never use it anyway) to make more room.

Thanks for the pic. I'm guessing you saw where I asked about it on another thread. Looks good I was just hopping it was 3rd gen lol.

no, didn't see it. Did i post the exact same picture? haha

anyways, removing your e-brake handle is kind of a bad idea.... no matter how infrequently you use it, there's always the chance you'll need it (like when working on your car etc), or parking in the snow so you can lock all 4 wheels).

You could probably find a way to modify a 4th gen handle to fit a 3rd gen.. i've never seen one with nothing around it, but, they both do the same job so it might be possible.
