3rd Gen clock fix

I haven't seen this link posted, so I figured I would.

I did the fix last night. Took me about an hour to disassemble, fix, then reassemble the car.

Clock works like a charm....

another satisfied customer

it is actually in that FAQ post at the top but you gotta go through my main page and then the how-tos and find it so it's not directly linked from here

btw, if you can't solder, Matt93SE will do it for you for a small price

You can get one at www.nopinion.com, but its 233 plus another 50 for the door pieces, so I dunno.

I don't know if it means anything, but I am getting my degree in electronics engineering, and this fix will work for 99% of all clock problems, so I recommend it.

Well kiss me in the morning and call me Susie. Craig's capacitor swap has now been certified!

Another easy fix for the clocks

I fixed mine by going to a junk yard and yanking one out of an old max. Best part is -- the guy just gave it to me!

boygenius - I'm in my junior year at Georgia Tech majoring in Electrical Engineering but to be honest this is more electronics technician type stuff; also Matt93SE is studying EE as well but I'm better than him j/k

Must have done it wrong ...aka... bridged solder joint. Just doing what was on that paper shouldnt have made it mess up unless u used the wrong caps. Good Luck!!!

Probably was then. I wouldn't know without seeing it. I can't believe Nissan charges that much for a new one though. That sucks. Lol.

By "bridged solder joints" do you mean that no two solder joints can touch or the whole clock will be screwed up?

Also - my circuit board is different from the one in Craig's picture, mine only has one capicitor (C1), and the layout is a lil different.
