So fresh and so green...green (smog results)

So,I finally got the parts together to replace the injectors, after 1 n 5 were leaking fuel(1 and 5 were replaced before I got the car and red tops were used) and ruined the catalytic convertor and caused it glow when driven more than 20 minutes.Plugs #1#3#5 were fuel soaked when I removed them.Mind you this all happened within 2 weeks of my tags expiring and a smog needed. So it sat for over a month because I lost my job and I was using my savings for rent instead. But late June I got a job and was able to start collecting the parts needed for the repairs.

I replaced the injectors first and it was such and improvement just with that change alone. I took it to get smoged and it failed big time! HC and CO was off the charts. I was hoping the original cat was still good, but it drove like crap (probably clogged) so I installed a new O2 sensor, plugs and cat. I put the timing back to stock 15* and stock air box (for visual inspection) it passed with flying colors and it drives so much better!!

Overall it cost me about $500 bucks in parts (Automotive wholesale discounts FTW)

the tutorials on this site really helped and since Ive already did the valved cover gaskets before it was a breeze pulling everything off.

So glad I live in a non emissions county. I would be so screwed with my sr s14, and likely the maxima too.
