Wow, does anyone even make a rebuild kit anymore for these cars?

I'd go oem, try www.nissanpartsasap.com and call them, speak to Ray or "Big" Wayne.

Might also try Rockauto. They should at least have most the gaskets you need.

Even when I bought the Nissan oem rebuild kit for my VG, it did not come with anything but gaskets and a few other odds and ends like rings and valve seals..... no sensors, no pistons.

I had so much left over from my rebuild kit, I imagine it was NOT worth the cost. But, you might look at adding the stuff up you need seperately and see which is the better cost. It would had been cheaper for my to just buy the gaskets and stuff I needed. For example, my block ended up being bored, so I had to buy oversized rings for my new pistons. Ended up speding more having purchased the kit. Of course, I bought the kit BEFORE all that work had been done.

I'm just rebuilt the top half of the motor. So I don't have to take motor out. I got food compression on all cylinder.

How do you figure you can rebuild the top half of the engine if you don't even know what all parts make up the top half of the engine?

You can reuse your old lifters and valves if still good.
Felpro oem replacement gaskets
Intake manifold Gasklet set
Valve cover gaskets
Valve stem seals
NEW headbolts

if anything i would see if you can get forged pistons and just rebuild the whole engine i cant see how doing the valve cover gaskets etc is gonna help anything that much unless theyre already bad

To add to the list, you need new cam seals and exhaust manifold gaskets. I suggest new lifters as well. Not very expensive.

What's parts usually are reused?
My friend told me I should balance the cylinder head that sit on the block cause its not going to sit right if I don't do it. Is this true?

No, you really only need to do that if the head gasket has blown. But, it's not a bad idea to have the shop inspect it. I assume you're going to have a shop do the work unless you have the tools to pull valve springs (Wayne can attest to those dangers! LOL!!) and do it safely? The shop can tear it down, ensure the heads aren't warped, clean it, reinstall all your new parts and the cams with seals.

You might even talk to them to see if they can enlarge the valve openings a bit and port match. I think you would be pleased with the results.
