Bought 94gxe yest.,power steering hose broke today
Title says it all bought a 1994 maxima gxe last night for 1100, one of the tires had a slow leak,on the way to the tire shop today big cloud of smoke and loss of power in the steering, pressure line had busted due to retarded routing that had it sittin on the rather sharp edge of a heat shield,after 167,000 miles of vibrating and rubbing what can u expect to happen? Easy fix only $40-50 with buying a 15/16 socket and box wrench... And I zip tied it away from that edge..also the radio doesn't work,but I'll start a new thread for that after I look thru the stickies,as I did for advice on the pressure line,good thing was wondering y the p/s fluid was red, nissan uses ATF...
What heat shield are you talking about the ps hose touching? I don't recall seeing any ps hose/lines being routed too close to anything. Are you sure yours was original/unmolested?
