cigarette lighter blew and power light coming on
I was using an old dual socket extension, I think it got a little loose and when I was adjusting it, CRACK! bright spark! I took out the extension with gloves that had some rubber, and tried plugging in my phone charger into the main socket, nothing. It was to dark for Me to see, but is this just a matter of changing th fuse or do I need professional help?
I have my A/T in the middle, And NOT on power. But I'm accelerating hard ( of course after my car has heated up) my power light comes on. Is it coming on cause I'm accelerating hard and the computer is helping me or is there something wrong with my computer.
I know that when power is depressed, the gears take longer to shift and acceleraion is more powerful. But in this case my switch was on normal
Any ideas?
Thanks!

You don't need rubber gloves when playing with automotive electrical (except for spark plug wires!) because the 12 volts is not high enough to overcome your internal skin resistance and cause a shock/electrocution.
As far as the cigarette lighter socket, it should be just the fuse. Try that first. It sounds like that loose plug you had in there somehow shorted the middle pin to the sleeve and popped the fuse. That was almost certainly the spark you saw.
About your A/T switch: I don't know if it is a bug or not but mine does the exact same thing. If I "get on it" and accelerate aggressively sometimes my power light comes on for several seconds despite my A/T switch being in the middle position. Doesn't seem to hurt anything so I always just assumed it was a feature/quirk of the car.
I always wondered if I babied it around all the time, would the comfort light start to come on by itself too?
