Your probably right but maybe i just haven't payed attention to our 3rd gen tail lights especially being that mines been parked over the winter but that rectangular piece in that tail light? do all 3rd gens have that? If so im guessing 89-91 judging by the grill?

Unsure on grille, but to the best of my knowledge, yes all 3rd gens have the reflector square in the center.

Edit: OP, just realized that you've covered your reverse lights and rear turn indicator lights with the plastidip, may want to double check that thy're still visible through it if you haven't already trimmed spots for them.

They shop actually plasti dipped them black and that was the first thing I had on the list for them to change once I dropped the car off today.

I never thought to think about that until a friend of mine pointed it out on the highway. Car should be back tomorrow with regular lights but I'm having them keep the center reflector the same. I like it a lot.

Well not even a month after the dip, my mom backed into my car and scraped the passenger side pretty good.

This may be an opportunity for a color change.

Bah, that sucks man! Its like the curse of buying a new car - no matter how hard you try to prevent it, someone or something will invariably find a way to scratch, ding or dent it! Frustrating for sure, but good to see you've got a positive attitude about it!

Any ideas as far as this potential color change?

Yeah. It's a black base coat mixed with a gallon of black but some milligrams of "blurple" pigment pearl.
